CITY YEAR JACKSONVILLE

CITY YEAR JACKSONVILLE
Research shows that students at risk of dropping out of school can be identified as early as the sixth grade by three early
warning indicators – poor attendance, disruptive behavior and course failure in math and English. Through the Whole
School, Whole Child service model, City Year AmeriCorps members support at risk students through in-class tutoring,
mentorship and after-school programs. In the 2014-2015 school year, 74 City Year AmeriCorps members will provide over
125,800 hours of service in eight schools across Jacksonville.
