CITY YEAR JACKSONVILLE Research shows that students at risk of dropping out of school can be identified as early as the sixth grade by three early warning indicators – poor attendance, disruptive behavior and course failure in math and English. Through the Whole School, Whole Child service model, City Year AmeriCorps members support at risk students through in-class tutoring, mentorship and after-school programs. In the 2014-2015 school year, 74 City Year AmeriCorps members will provide over 125,800 hours of service in eight schools across Jacksonville.
