2) You are standing on top of a 40 foot tall building. Your friend is on a 65 foot building. If
you view your friend at a 36°angle of elevation, how far apart are the buildings?
3) A slide is 13 feet long and ends 2 feet above the ground. If the top of the slide is
8 feet off the ground, at what angle does the slide decline?
4) You stand 6 ft tall and you view a 35 foot building from your line of sight at an angle of
42º. How far from your position is the base of the building?
5) A 7 foot ramp connects 2 levels of a playground. The ramp begins 5 feet above the
ground and ends 3 feet above the ground. At what angle does the ramp decline?
6) Suppose a flag is flown from the front of the roof of CB West High School. From a point
40 feet in front of the school, the angles of elevation to the base of the flagpole and the
top of the flagpole are 28º and 42º, respectively. Show all work and round any
measurements to the nearest hundredth.
