Instruction/Tutorial Accordion-Card by Stempelfantasie
General:
The Accordion-card was developed in the metric system.
For computation purposes: one inch equals 2.54 cm, which means if you use a inch-based cutting
board, I recommend you calculate the dimensions first in inch
Material:
1x
DIN A4-Cardstock (Tempting Turquoise)
12x 5,0 cm x 6,0 cm Cardstock (Night of Navy)
12x 4,5 cm x 4,5 cm Seriespaper
3x 7,4 cm x 10cm Cardstock (2x Whisper White, 1x Night of Navy)
1x 6,9 cm x 9,5cm Cardstock (Whisper White)
ca. 50cm Ribbon (Whisper White)
Instruction: The basic card measures 8,0 cm x 10,5 cm. You place the cardboard sheet up-end and cut it in the
middle at 10,5 cm, so that you have to same-sized equal parts.
Now you have to fold one piece at 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26 und 28 cm. The other piece of the cardboard
needs to be folded at 8, 10, 12cm and then cut it at 14cm. Caution: only cut it in this variant with six letters
(SAMUEL). If you need more letters, you need to continue folding in double steps, until you achieve the requested
length and then cut. Per letter or number you need one „Accordion“-Fold, means double-fold. I recommend cutting
in the end, when you are sure to have enough folds and space left.

You have to fold alternating, so that an accordion is crafted.
You repeat the same with the other part, then turn it, because it’s the backside of the card and then put it together
with strong adhesive double-faced tape or Multipurpose-liquid glue.
Now you can start with the interior design. I cut the letters with the Big Shot, but you can also stamp them. The
decoration and the inscription can be very individual according to your taste and wishes.

If you have all required parts, you can start putting things together. The card inserts for the upper row needs to be
glued aligned with the right border, for the lower row they need to be glued aligned with the left border of the inner
card (see picture below).
Now you have to design the three pages (or sides?) of the card. The design for the outside has two layers: first the
color-cardboard in cardstock Night of Navy, and then Whisper White on top. IMPORTANT: The outer layout needs
to be glued on the card at the end, because the ribbon needs to be put beneath first!!
You put the first interior card with a letter left-bounded on the first fold. Then you put the next letter-card on the
third fold, and so forth. Pay attention that the upper edge matches for all letter cards and that enough space is left
for the lower row. So don’t start to low with the upper row of letters.

Finally you fold the card and put the ribbon around. Then you glue the outer layout on the back page with strong
adhesive tape (because the band keeps at its place when the bow is opened for the first time) and put it on the outer
side of the card with the ribbon.
Done!
It should look like this in the inside! Have fun and success with redoing it!
