Welcome
Hi. Johnny here. Thank you for taking a moment to review the band’s Press Kit. We appreciate it.
Johnny and the Spinsations play feel-good classics from the 50s and 60s because that is the music we love.
And because we love it, The Spinsations and I strive to perform the songs faithfully to the originals. Much
of what they play you won’t hear from any other band in town. Who else plays songs by Sam Cooke, Roy
Orbison, Herman’s Hermits, The Monkees, The Hollies and Paul Revere and the Raiders, right alongside
Elvis and The Beatles? And the band even plays them on period-appropriate instruments, such as Rickenbacker and Gretsch guitars, to get just the right sound.
Johnny and the Spinsations understand that, like most things in life, success comes through building
trusted relationships. The band takes a professional approach to its affairs, with the result that you can
have confidence that they will never let you down.
Every relationship has a beginning. If you are a booking agent or facility owner, we’d like an opportunity to
perform for you - to break the ice as it were. We know that you and your customers will want us back. After reviewing these materials, please give our manager, Patrick, a call to discuss how we can work together
to our mutual benefit.

About the Band
The Story of the Spinsations
Johnny and the Spinsations traces its roots to 2008, when lead singer Jon Bouche and Patrick Waites joined forces as part of what was then known as the Love Street Band, a group assembled initially for the single purpose of performing the Beatles’ White Album. After that sucessful event in November 2008, the group decided to keep going, primarily performing at charity events and hospitals but also making several radio and TV appearances. On January
30, 2009, the group staged a recreation of the Beatles rooftop concert - one of only a few nationally.
Lead vocalist Jon Bouche
In late 2009, the band detached from the Love Street nonprofit and briefly adopted a more psychedelic persona. Freed from sharing its name with a charity (though its members remain heavily involved), the band, then known as
Tie-Dye Sky, performed in local venues such as Fitzgeralds.
By early 2010, Jon and Patrick had developed a strong desire to take the band more seriously. This led to a new emphasis on danceable, feelgood oldies of the 50s and 60s and the need for a new name. Patrick initially coined “The
Spinsations” but felt that it lacked something. Over Jon’s protests that he hates being called Johnny, the band became “Johnny and the Spinsations.”
Lead guitar player and Houston music-scene veteran David Marshall joined the band in August 2010, following an open auditon. His son Ethan then was recruited to play drums, but soon switched to bass. Following another open
audition for a drummer, Danny Patterson completed the lineup. These five guys actually like each other, which they think makes a Spinsations performance more fun for band and audience alike.

Patrick Waites - guitars and keys
Danny Patterson - drums
David Marshall - lead guitar

Equipment
Staying Current
Johnny and the Spinsations use high quality sound reinforcement equipment to ensure
both reliability and the cleanest sound. Amplified instruments are typically routed
directly to the board to enable enhanced volume control. (We may be the only band
around that is occasionally asked to turn up.)
The band welcomes prospective clients at its rehearsals. In addition, to be more accessible to
those wanting to check out the band for their event, the Spinsations periodically stage brief, early
performances at Bohemeos. For the band’s current schedule, please visit the Shows page of our
website by clicking below.
