Vancouver Sewing Classes will be providing paper pattern, notions, and muslins for all French
Draping course. This program offered the students to use the French Draping technique to
create the basic block pattern as well as designing their own creation. The students will learn
how to drape the muslin on the dress form and then trace the muslin onto the paper to
create the basic block paper pattern. In addition, the students will learn different ways to
drape and manipulate the muslin/fabric to design modern apparel. Each Design Workshop
Project will require the student to utilize the skill and knowledge they learn from each
draping class and create an original design in muslin of their own. The students will be asked
to use their new created pattern to create a muslin mock-up design of their work. Vancouver
Sewing Classes will be providing notes for some of the classes cover in this program. Students
will be required to supply their own fabrics, linings, interfaces, notions and trimmings for all
their Design Workshop projects.
