The 9 Annual Undergraduate Conference on Applied Computing (URC 2017) aims to provide a forum for undergraduate students
to present their research ideas and interact with other young researchers from educational institutions across the Arab world, expert
faculty, and leaders from the IT industry. So if you are an undergraduate student working on a final year project in any computing
field, you are encouraged to submit one-page abstract for a lightning talk, mobile app for humanitarian aid, live demo, or poster
presentation. All submissions will be reviewed by expert faculty and feedback provided to authors. In addition to student
presentations, the conference program will feature invited presentations from academia and industry. Join us to present your
project and expand your professional network.
Conference Format
Students are welcome to present their research projects in one of
four tracks. You will have a chance to polish your public speaking
skills, get published in the ebook of abstracts, and get a chance to
win one of the best demo or presentation awards.


Lightning Presentations: present your research project in
a short oral presentation style.
Submission Guidelines
Prospective authors are invited to submit a one-page
abstract describing their final year project or ongoing research project work. Please follow the
following guidelines:


Mobile apps for humanitarian aid: present the design and
functionaltiy of a novel app for humanitarian aid.


Live Demos: present a novel application, system or tool you
have fully developed – live demo of how it works.


Poster Presentations: present your project in an exhibit style
setting with a poster.
Registration Fee
The registration fee is 150 AED and includes admission
to all sessions, a copy of the ebook of abstracts, meals (breakfast,
lunch, and coffee breaks), and a certificate of participation.
Conference Proceedings
All submissions must be written in English.
Use the template available on the conference
website for your submission.
You may have one or more co-authors, but the
first author must be an undergraduate student.
All submissions must be made online. Please
check the conference website (www.urc.ac) for
further instructions.
