The meaning of the law color pattern within the Mayan Calendar

Dear Readers:
I wanted to write this article to explain what no one is talking about, and that is what I call “the
law color pattern of the Mayan calendar.” The Mayan calendar follows a mathematical pattern
of 20 day signs and 13 galactic tones of creation for a total of 260 day cycle. But also the Mayan
calendar follows a law color pattern, which is always moving from: Red, white, black and
yellow. These colors mean something for all of us that now are important to understand: Red
means initiation, white refinement, black or blue transformation and yellow completion.
To understand the colors within the Mayan calendar I need to explain first the year-bearer
system. The year bearers are the 4-year cycle of senior day-signs, which consecutively fall on
Mayan New Year's Day. Because the year began on different days for different Mayan groups,
there are five possible year-bearer systems, and they are indicated by Roman numerals in the
day-sign chart given below. In practice, however, only the Type II system seems to still is in use,
among the living Mayan Elders of Guatemala, which are the same that I use when I teach the
Mayan Year Bearers.

It is also crucial to mention that the Mayans also were aware of the extra six hours or a quarter
of a day longer of each year that accumulated into one full day every four years. This is the
reason why they moved back one day every four years to coincide with the year bearer for their
celebration of the New Year. This is the reason why the Mayan calendar is NOT a mechanical
calendar. Looking at the next chart, you’ll see how the Mayan New Year’s move one day back
every four years. For example on March 22nd 1896, the Mayan New Year in Gregorian time
stays the same for the next four years, 1896, 1897, 1898, 1899, until 1900 when it moves back
one day to celebrate the New Year on March 21st 1900.
It is imperative to notice that the name of each year, such as “1 Earth,” is in the Galactic Week
of “1 Earth” and this day-sign has the color red, which in the color law pattern of the calendar,
means initiation. So notices how every thirteen years cycle, the day-signs align to initiate,
refine, transform and complete a cycle of natural events, but also events in our lives.

Please notice the date March 9th, 1948 this year was the beginning of the year “1 Earth kin 157”
and the beginning of a 13 year galactic cycle of initiation. It is important to understand that the
red year bearer always will start the new cycle with the Mayan first galactic tone (1) and will
end the 13 year cycle with the last galactic tone (13). This applies for all the other 3 year
bearers, wind, deer and road.
Please notice the date February 25th, 1999 was the year of “13 Road kin 52” and was the last
year of a 13 galactic years of completion. So on February 25th, 2000 was the beginning of the
year “1 Earth kin 157” and of course the beginning of a 13 galactic years of initiation. That is the
reason why so many people notice it that their lives had change and most of them conclude
that since the year 2000 they had been doing new things. The reason why is because was the
beginning of a new 13 galactic year cycle in the Mayan calendar and nobody notice it.
So this coming February 22nd, 2012 is the last red year of the 13 galactic year’s cycle of
initiation. And on February 21st, 2013 will be the beginning of the next 13 galactic year cycle of
refinement. So this year is not the end either the beginning is the time of refinement. Then by
February 18th 2026 the year “1 Deer kin 27” will be the 13 year cycle of transformation. And
when we all reach February 15th, 2039 will be the year of “1 Road kin 92” and the beginning of
the last 13 year cycle of completion. Then by February 12 th 2052 will be the beginning of a new
thirteen red cycles of initiation.
Also please notice carefully at the Sacred Tzol’kin chart the first galactic week starts with “1
Crocodile kin 1 and ends with “13 Reed kin 13.” Both Mayan day sign are RED, so this first 13
day count is a time of initiation. Always the first Mayan day sign within the galactic week will be
the most influential color, for example: 1 Crocodile, 5 Serpent, 9 offering and 13 Reed, they all
share the same color red, which is why the meaning of this galactic week is a time of initiation.

Then the second galactic week starts with the next color in turn WHITE, and “1 Jaguar kin 14” is
the next galactic week and ends with “13 Death kin 26.” Then the third galactic week starts with
the next color in turn BLACK, and “1 Deer kin 27” and this galactic week ends with “13 Storm kin
39.” Then fourth galactic week starts with the next color in turn YELLOW, and “1 Sun kin 40”
and this galactic week ends with “13 Road kin 52.”
With all this in mind please notice how always the Mayan calendar follows this law color
pattern of creation. Red initiation, White refinement, Black transformation and Yellow
completion, so just like every 4 days and every 13 days the color changes, the same happen in
the larger cycle of every 13 years. Even in the sacred calendar we found the 4 cycles of 65 days
each cycle:
From “1 Crocodile kin 1 to “13 Serpent kin 65” the RED cycle of initiation
From “1 Death kin 66” to “13 Dog kin 130,” the WHITE cycle of refinement
From “1 Monkey kin 131” to “13 Eagle kin 195” the BLACK cycle of transformation
From “1 Owl kin 196” to “13 Sun kin 260,” the YELLOW cycle of completion.
Finally I want to share with all of you the thirteen steps of creation for this coming year of “13
Earth kin 117.” The Mayan galactic week of this Mayan day sign is in the galactic week of “1
Serpent kin 105”. The meaning of the galactic tones for reading purposes is as follow:
1. Serpent/Kan: The purpose for this year is a time to ask that our inner flame (spirit) to
grow and for develop for spiritual evolution, a day to ask to remember and return
human values lost or forgotten.
2. Death/Keme: Our challenge could be to contact our spiritual ancestors. Ask/petition
that accidents be avoided and for protection while traveling. On this year ancestral
knowledge can be acquired because on this day dimensional doors to the spiritual
pyramid open so that we may communicate with superior beings.
3. Deer/Kiej: This year encourage us to serve all Beings of Light so we can help each other
and be in harmony with Mother Nature. This is a special year in which to be in
equilibrium with the heart of Father Sky and the heart of Mother Earth.
4. Rabbit/Q’anil: The way we should shape our cosmic mind throughout this year is by
praying that the Sacred Cosmic Seed of germination and planting that humanity has
forgotten is remembered. Day on which to ask that there be abundance and prosperity
for humanity.
5. Offering/T’oj: The way that we can find empowerment for ourselves is to make sacred
offerings, give thanks for all the blessings that we have received from the AJAW, the
Creator, a year in which we should ask that we are liberated from all obstacles, tests,
and negative energies, on the personal and humanity level.
6. Dog/T’zi: We are going to have balance if we ask for divine intervention so that we are
guided on the spiritual path. Pray that the justice of God the Creator triumph over the
injustices that have entrapped humanity. Special year to ask for our spiritual guides in
our community and globally be protected.
7. Monkey/B’atz: According with the energy of this year, we are going to find harmony if
we pray/petition that there be cosmic order personally as well as for all of humanity.
This is a year in which to ask: for protection for all, good harvest well-being for
humanity, resolve family problems.
8. Road/E: We are going to integrate everything that we do if we decide to initiate the
sacred path. Good year to ask: for clarity and light on our path, to pray to our spiritual
guides, that humanity is on the spiritual path, that we find our “SACBE”, the White path
which produces the sacred tiers of the spiritual pyramid.
9. Reed/AJ: The intention that all humanity should have is to ask that our homes, our
families, plants be protected, and that animals be protected against extermination by
mankind. It should be a special year to request reestablishment of spiritual harmony
with Mother Earth. We can also request good weather, and a bountiful harvest. One of
the most important aspects for this year is to use the energy of Reed to communicate
with the Plant Kingdom.
10. Jaguar/IX: The Mayan calendar asks us that we all should manifest each other by
changing any negative aspects. A spiritual retreat to analyze the life that we are living is
very favorable on this year, to pray for a resolution of personal and humanity issues.
This is a year to visit sacred places.
11. Eagle/Tzi’kin: We are going to find liberation and freedom if we use the energy of the
eagle for affairs of the heart, love, family harmony, and to send love and freedom to
those who are spiritually oppressed. Pray for the children that suffer from the ravages
of war. Pray for economic stability. A year to ask that we have the panoramic view of
the eagle, so that we are guided on the right spiritual path.
12. Owl/Ajmaq: We are going to understand each other if we use the energy of the owl for
repentance; we should ask for forgiveness for the wrongs we have committed. Pray
that injustices end toward people. Pray for the underprivileged. This is also a good year
to be in harmony with Mother Earth, and to pray for our ancestors that have passed.
13. Earth/N’oj: We are going to transcend to a new level at the end of this “13 Earth year” if
we use the energy of the earth to conducive, strengthen the mind and memory. A
special year to ask for clarity and that experience is transformed to wisdom. Consult
during Sacred Fire ceremony in the morning hours.
This is the meaning of this coming year of “13 Earth kin 117” enjoy the ride towards the year of
2013 and the beginning of the refinement cycle.
