We’ve been working very hard to make this summer a tremendous success for everyone. The following are important guidelines regarding Adventure Day Camp & Activities; additional rules will be discussed and posted at each camp site. COMMUNICATION: We ask that you please communicate all concerns/suggestions with camp directors and Day Camp Director, Kathy Shine or Recreation Superintendent, Sudha Suryadevara at 610-265-1071. This summer’s directors are: • • UPPER MERION MIDDLE SCHOOL: MARNI BERKOWITZ & JULIAN FRANKLIN ROBERTS ELEMENTARY: ANGELA DAVIS & HANS KALBACH BEHAVIOR: Children are required to stay at camp during their specified hours and adhere to all camp rules and policies. They are not permitted in any restricted areas or to leave camp for any reason. Rules will be stated and posted at the beginning of camp. Anyone who has to leave camp early (for each occurrence) and all walkers/bike riders will require a note from a parent/guardian to be hand-delivered to the camp director - your cooperation is extremely critical. Children are expected to behave properly at all times and failure to do so can result in exclusion from activities, loss of trip privileges, parental phone calls and meetings, or dismissal from camp with no refund. Upper Merion School District policies and procedures pertaining to alcohol, weapons and drugs will be strictly enforced at all times. DROP OFF/PICK UP OF CHILDREN: Each day begins at 9:00 AM (8:15 AM Extra hours) and ends at 4:00 PM (5:30 PM Extra hours). Any camper dropped off before their registered time will be unsupervised - please do not abandon them. Any camper picked up late, will be charged the following DAILY LATE PICK-UP FEES: $1.00 PER CHILD, PER MINUTE. First incident: fees will be charged after 5 minutes; must be paid before child is permitted to return to site Second incident: fees charged as published; must be paid before child is permitted to return to site Third incident: child is dismissed from the program with NO refund of registration, trip or swimming fees We understand that extenuating circumstances prohibit a parent from picking up a child on time, but please try to anticipate any difficulties in advance as we incur overtime staff costs when our employees have to stay late. LUNCH: Lunch should be sent daily in a sturdy lunch bag with your child's full name, age and camp location clearly marked on the bag. T-SHIRTS: Children must wear camp shirts on ALL trips. Each child registered for camp (6 weeks) will receive a complimentary ADC t-shirt AT THEIR CAMPSITE. Additional ADC T-Shirts will be available (on a first come, first served basis) for sale at the Community Center at $10 per shirt. REGISTRATION FOR TRIPS: Space is limited on all trips and is on a first come, first served basis. This allows each facility and bus to accommodate our group. In some cases, for safety reasons, trips are limited by the age of participants. You may register for trips online or at the Community Center. Trip registrations will not be accepted at camp. We accept cash, check and credit cards for trips. Please note that for all credit card transactions, a non-refundable 2.45% service/convenience surcharge will be assessed. Trip sign-ups close at 4pm on the Friday prior to the week the trip takes place. For all swim-oriented trips/excursions, children must be able to swim to attend! Socks, shoes and ADC shirts must be worn on all trips. TRIP CANCELLATION/REFUNDS: If a trip is cancelled by the Upper Merion Parks and Recreation Department, a full refund will be issued. NO REFUNDS WILL BE GIVEN under any other circumstances. (if a camper arrives to camp after the bus leaves, doesn’t show up to camp on the day of the trip, vacation, sick, etc.) INCLEMENT WEATHER: A decision about the cancellation of trips in the event of rain will be made prior to trip departure.
