What is Swayam Personality Assessment?
This work is based on the Indian spiritual and intellectual tradition, and is principally derived from the Vedas,
Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita, Puranas, Samkhya, Yoga and Ayurveda, to name a few. It essentially deals with the
evolution of the world and how everything is based on the five primordial elements, the Pancha Mahabhutas. They are
the Akasa (ether or space), Vayu (air), Agni (fire), Ap (water) and Prithvi (earth). These combine with each other in
different combinations and permutations to form the entire cosmos, including our home, the Earth we live on, and its
inhabitants-the different species of life we find here. At the physical-physiological level the Pancha Mahabhutas
combine with each other to form the Tridoshas (as per Ayurvedic principles) which are Vata, Pitta and Kapha. At the
psycho-spiritual level they form the Trigunas (as per all schools or darsanas of Indian thought, including Ayurveda)
which are Sattva, Rajas and Tamas.
The Tridoshas and Trigunas interact with each other to give rise to a unique persona and psyche. How people behave
the way they do, why they do it and what urges and motivates them to do it, what is the kind of personality they are
born with and how they can make use of this knowledge to lead a holistic life and be happy and successful in
everything they do forms the basis of this whole work.
