BEACHES
For a relaxing day out there is nothing better than a visit to the beach and Anglesey has some of the best
beaches in the UK: Here are some we think you would like…. (Don’t forget your sunscreen!)
Newborough
Rhosneigr
The Newborough Beach
stretches from
Abermenai Point on the
Menai Strait in the south
to Llanddwyn Island in
the north. The miles of
golden sand a backdrop of
huge sand dunes make
this a great summer day
out
The beach coastline
stretches all the way from
the intimately small Cable
Bay, along the popular
Rhosneigr beaches and all
the way to the peace and
privacy of Cymyran
Beach. this seaside village
is world famous for
windsurfing, kite-Surfing
and sailing
HOW TO GET THERE:
Car: 17 miles, 35 minutes
Bus: Bangor Bus Station (Stop C) to Newborough
village, 40 min, approx. £7, 10-15 minute walk from
the village to the beach. Bus 42/42A timetable.
HOW TO GET THERE:
Car: 21 miles, 40 minutes
Train: Bangor to Rhosneigr, approx.£7 (day return),
10 min walk from station to the beach. Train times.
Benllech
Lligwy
Benllech beach is popular
for sea canoeing and
surfing. Moreover, the
close proximity of the
Anglesey Coastal Path is
one of the best coastline
walks in Wales and the
UK Winner of the
European Blue Flag.
Located on the North
East side of Anglesey,
Lligwy is protected
from the prevailing
winds. The beach has
shallow shelving, rock
pools and an ancient
fish trap, while in the
bay is Ynys Dulas, (Seal
Island) and you could
see seals or dolphins.
HOW TO GET THERE:
Car: 15 miles, 30 minutes
Bus: Bangor Bus Station (Stop D) to Benllech.
40 min return, approx. £7. Bus 62 timetable.
HOW TO GET THERE:
Car: 15 miles, 30 minutes
Bus: Bangor Bus Station (Stop D) to Rhos Lligwy.
40 min return, approx. £7. Bus 62 timetable.
