Access **** Fishability ***** Description: A beautiful 300m long curving lake set in the delightful Carey valley, adjacent to the Downacarey river beat, with a lovely woodland backdrop. Established for over 15 years, this is now a mature water with carp to over 10lb and a good head of tench, rudd, bream, roach and perch. The lake has been the only coarse fishery in the Passport over recent seasons although it is becoming hugely popular producing good bags of perch, rudd and roach along with some decent carp. This is certainly a good spot to try for those wanting a secluded, natural lake with parking now available much closer to hand, please refer to map. In 2014 it produced mirror carp to 13.5lb, common carp to 12lb, tench to 3lb and bream to 4lb. Info & Restrictions: Barbless hooks only, no carp in keepnets. Groundbaits and boilies allowed. Sorry, no night fishing or dogs allowed. Directions & Access: Take the A388 from Launceston to Holsworthy. After 5 miles enter St Giles on the Heath and take the first right signed Tower Hill passing the Pint and Post on your left. Continue out of the village for 0.3 mile and turn left down the track on the left before the bridge. Drive down the track to Downacarey where you will find the box inside the farm entrance. You can park by the box and walk to the left of the brick farmhouse and on down to the lake or drive past the house where a small parking area can be found on the right.
