Tennessee Jet Boat Press Release

TENNESSEE JETBOAT ADVENTURES DELIVERS AN EXHILARATING WAY TO
EXPERIENCE THE FRENCH BROAD RIVER AND COOL DOWN THIS SUMMER
Sevierville, Tenn. – July 27, 2016 – Tennessee Jetboat Adventures, the newest attraction in the greater
Smoky Mountain region, delivers family fun and a thrilling way for area residents and tourists to
experience the French Broad River this summer.
Now in its first full summer season of operation, Tennessee Jetboat Adventures takes passengers on
the ride of their lives. Commanding speed and precision, an expert jet boat captain throttles the custom
made jet boat up to 40 mph and performs spinouts, quick stops and skilled maneuvers. The highperformance boat is designed to skim the water with the help of powerful air jets. The thrill ride
focuses on speed, power stops and big sprays, delivering an exhilarating adventure and a great way to
cool off on the French Broad River.
“A boat ride is a fun way to showcase the natural beauty for locals who may not otherwise have the
opportunity to experience the French Broad River, and for tourists who are enjoying a family vacation
and creating memories for their children,” said Josef Haas, executive vice president and chief
operating officer, Stand Rock Hospitality, owner and operator of Tennessee Jetboat Adventures.
Tennessee Jetboat Adventures excursions launch from a private dock, located adjacent to Smoky
Mountain Knife Works on Hwy. 66, four miles off I-40. The 11-passenger jet boat operates from 105pm through Labor Day, and weekends through October. Tickets are $18.99 and can be purchased at
the Tennessee Jetboat Adventures sales offices located at the Smoky Mountain Knife Works and at
Wilderness at the Smokies. Grand Opening specials include buy three, get one free, and in partnership
with Wilderness at the Smokies, resort guests receive two free tickets with their reservation through
Labor Day. Shuttle bus rides to and from the French Broad River are available at Wilderness at the
Smokies. Tennessee Jetboat Adventures welcomes walk up’s, but advanced reservations are
recommended.
Not to be confused with a loud speedboat, the 20-foot, 11-passenger jet boat has a much different
design than a regular outboard powered or inboard/outboard vessel. The water is circulated through a
jet-pump so that all moving parts are inside the vessel and never in contact the riverbed or
shoreline. Federally certified, the jet boat is capable of passing through as little as 4 inches of water
without affecting the river environment and was specially designed to comply with the noise standards
held in the Smoky Mountain National Park. The maximum noise output is 80db, which is the
equivalent of a vacuum cleaner.
Tennessee Jetboat Adventures owner and operator, Stand Rock Hospitality, has deep roots in boat
excursion tourism dating back to 1921 with the Dells Boat Tours of Wisconsin Dells, Wis. Due to the
successful operations in Wis., Stand Rock Hospitality is excited to bring their experience to
Sevierville, Tenn. All jet boat operations are compliant with Federal, State and company safety
regulations. All boat operators undergo extensive training and are State and US Coast Guard certified,
abiding to strictly enforced policies to respect other boats enjoying the river and delivering a safe
experience.
