from our state-of-the-art facilities based in Saskatoon

The heart of Envirotec is found in the people who

AWARD WINNING COMMITMENT TO EMPLOYEES
Envirotec
is
an
award-winning
Saskatchewan
employer recognized for its commitment to safety
plus the development, support and retention of its
valued personnel. In 2016, the Saskatoon Chamber of
Commerce named Envirotec as Business of the Year
and presented the company with the first-ever SABEX
Safety Award. Envirotec also recently won the North
Saskatoon Business Association Employee Retention &
Development Award and the Safe Employer Award.
We have a long-standing educational assistance program
that allows employees to obtain external training with all
costs paid by the company. Due to the unique nature of
Envirotec’s business, we require some of our employees
to undergo highly technical and advanced training at

Florida State Fire College (Ocala, FL), Security and
Emergency Response Training Centre (Pueblo, CO),
Justice Institute (Maple Ridge, BC), Manitoba Emergency
Services College (Brandon, MB), and Emergency Training
Centre at Lakeland College (Vermilion, AB). In the past
three years, nearly $1 million has been invested in the
external development and training of over 150 employees,
often as an extension or continuation of an existing
certification (or even the development of a new skill set).
Envirotec also offers a Supplemental Unemployment
Benefit (SUB) Program to employees completing an
apprenticeship in order to encourage their professional
development and assist with any related financial offset.
The SUB program provides a financial top-up of 30%
throughout the duration of the employee’s training.

have. Our entire team has its primary focus on ensuring
that each and every activity within our company is
undertaken with the highest degree of safety reasonable.
Many of the services we provide are carefully scrutinized
by governmental agencies such as the Saskatchewan
Ministry of Environment. Before we can proceed with
most any activity, we secure special authorization from
provincial and federal authorities by way of permits,
licenses or approvals to operate.
We maintain an impressive catalogue of certifications,
qualifications and active memberships with numerous
organizations and regulatory bodies. Our consistent job
safety analyses and planned task observations promote
thorough comprehension of — and adherence to — all
safety policies and procedures.
Envirotec subscribes to nationally-recognized standards

Association); API (American Petroleum Institute);
CSA (Canadian Standards Association); and SCSA

25 YEARS OF ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICE
IT ALL ADDS UP
In the past 16 years, Envirotec has
collected over 120 million litres of used
oil — the same amount of liquid required
to fill 48 Olympic-sized swimming pools.
The carbon savings from the past three
years of Envirotec’s used oil materials
collection has totaled over 36,000
metric tons — the equivalent of the
carbon sequestered by almost 1 million
tree seedlings grown for 10 years.
Envirotec has processed over 1.17 million
litres of latex paint for recycling since
2006 — over one litre of recycled paint
for every man, woman and child in
Saskatchewan.
If stretched end to end, the metal
recovered by Envirotec from paint
can handles alone would be able to
reach the International Space Station...
and over 50% o
f the way back t o Earth.
Since our first days of operation in 1990, Envirotec has had a
number of extraordinary achievements in each of its service
divisions — all owed to a passion for maintaining a safe
and clean Saskatchewan. We constructed a multi-million
dollar diversified Transfer, Storage and Disposal Facility —
the first (and only) one of its kind in Saskatchewan. We
invented the equipment that helped establish Envirotec as
the sole processor of all collected paints and aerosols in
the province. We have grown to become Saskatchewan’s
leading environmental service provider with nearly 200
dedicated employees and an impressive fleet of over 130
specialized service units.
Envirotec currently collects, transports and processes
approximately half of the province’s used oil materials. We
have a long track-record of safely and responsibly diverting
large volumes of various waste from entering local landfills
or other parts of the environment. From small spills to major
train derailments, we have also spent over two decades
ensuring that all environmental emergencies we respond
to in Saskatchewan are safely managed, mitigated and
remediated to regulatory requirements.
At Envirotec, our love of Saskatchewan has translated into
25 years of extraordinary environmental benefits.
