TRIMESTER 1, WEEK 4
Picture day is September 26th and is a free dress day. Forms went out last
week but are also available in the front office.
Our fist Math unit test on Place Value will be on Wednesday. Students will
complete a Study Guide in class on Monday and Tuesday and will have this
to study from at home. Our next unit for both grades will be adding and
subtracting multi-digit numbers.
The fourth grade field trip to Red Bluff for Trapper’s Camp will be on
Wednesday, October 1st. Students will wear pioneer dress (flannel shirts
and jeans for boys; dresses for girls) and participating parents are strongly
encouraged. Fourth grade families, please send me an e-mail by Tuesday,
September 23rd if you’d like to be a driver. This will be an all-day field trip.
Students will be creating a “Me Bag” like they did the first week of school
for the main character of their book report book. The three items will
symbolize something about the character, the problem, and the resolution
of the story. These will be presented on October 10th.
Please note the Bible Memory section of the newsletter as this year we will
be memorizing extended passages of Scripture. The tests will be in a fill in
the blank format and students are expected to retain the previous verses.
However, the majority of the blanks will come from the new portion to be
memorized.
The Yard Duty Staff is asking that each class donate three playground balls
for recess: a soccer ball, a basketball, and a 4-square ball. If this is
something your family is willing to help with, please let me know.
See reverse side for Spelling/
Vocabulary lists for each grade.
Students will learn the correct
spelling and meaning of the
following words and be able to
give examples of their antonyms.
