CLARK COUNTY
REPUBLICAN PARTY
WINNING CLARK COUNTY

Leaders with vision solve problems.
We know that there is a substantial voter registration gap between Republicans and Democrats in Clark County.
That is the result of a greater problem.
The greater problem with the Clark County Republican party is that we have allowed ourselves to simply complain
about losing elections and blame our elected officials for our failure as a party.
The solution is to roll up our sleeves as a party and do the work necessary to win elections by working with our elected
officials to grow our party.
Ask yourself these two questions:
1-What is your precinct number?
2-Are you a precinct captain?
If you are not able to answer these questions, contact Melody Howard. Melody is our Precinct Director for the county
party. She can be reached at [email protected]
Once you are able to answer these questions, you are ready to begin to grow the party.
The CCRP is working under the RNC Victory 365 program to grow our base.
The CCRP is going back to the three basic steps to win elections:
1-Identify the voters
2-Register the voters
3-Get the voters to the polls
These are the steps to grow the Republican base.
If you want to win elections, then become a precinct captain.
I am the precinct captain for precinct 1612 and I have a goal to register 33 people in my precinct.
When you see me, ask me why I chose 33 as my target number.
Talk is cheap. Action delivers the results needed to turn our government around.
Results take time. Steady and consistent focus on our objectives will deliver positive results.
Let’s get to work!
Chairman McKeon
To assist you in selecting the judicial candidates in the District Court elections, following is a list of the
candidates who spoke at ARW meetings, including our judicial candidate forum in March. Pursuant to
our Bylaws, ARW does not endorse any opposed Republican candidate during primary elections.
This information is not intended to be an endorsement of any particular candidate, but is merely a reminder of which candidates you may have met at one of our ARW meetings. Happy Voting!

Richard M. Nixon
37th U.S. President (1969-1974)
Political Party: Republican
Richard Nixon was born in California in 1913, excelled at Whittier College and Duke University Law School, married,
Patricia Ryan in 1940, and served as a lieutenant commander in the U.S. Navy during WWII. After the war, he was
elected to Congress from his California district. In 1950, Nixon was elected to the Senate. Two years later, Gen. Dwight
D. Eisenhower selected Nixon as his running mate.
As Vice President, Nixon assumed major duties that won him accolades and prominence in the political arena.
Nominated for President in 1960, he lost by a narrow margin to John. F. Kennedy. In 1968, he again won the
Republican nomination and went on to defeat Vice President Hubert Humphrey and third-party candidate George
McGovern.
As President, his accomplishments included revenue sharing, the end of the draft, new anti-crime laws, and a broad and
far-reaching environmental protection agenda. One of the most dramatic events of his first term occurred in July 1969,
when American astronauts made the first moon landing.
He worked tirelessly in his quest for world stability, marked by state visits to Moscow and Peking (Beijing) in 1972,
reducing tensions with the Soviet Union and Red China. In 1973 he announced an accord with North Vietnam, ending
years of American involvement in Indochina. In 1974, his Secretary of State Henry Kissinger negotiated disengagement
agreements between Israel and its opponents, Egypt and Syria.
Within a few months, his administration was embattled over the so-called "Watergate" scandal, stemming from a breakin at the offices of the Democratic National Committee during the 1972 campaign. The break-in was traced to officials
of the Committee to Re-elect the President. A number of administration officials resigned; some were later convicted of
offenses connected with efforts to cover up the affair. Nixon denied any personal involvement, but the courts forced him
to yield tape recordings which indicated that he had, in fact, tried to divert the investigation.
Faced with what seemed almost certain impeachment, Nixon announced on August 8, 1974, that he would resign the
next day to begin "that process of healing which is so desperately needed in America."
In his last years, Nixon gained praise as an elder statesman. By the time of his death on April 22, 1994, he had written
numerous books on his experiences in public life and on foreign policy.

Submitted by Judy Ferraro...
My sister was at Walmart last week and spotted a table
decorated for veteran's day. It was set with the five
place settings for each of our branches of service and a
stack of paper was laid out with a sign saying, "take
one." This was what it said:

REMEMBER ME ?
Hello, Remember Me? Some people call me Old Glory; others call me The Star Spangled Banner. Whatever name you call
me, I am your flag, the flag of the United States of America. Something has been bothering me, so I thought I might talk it
over with you; because it's about you and me.
I remember some time ago, people would line up on both sides of the street to watch the parades. Naturally I was leading
everyone, proudly waving in the breeze.
When your daddy saw me coming, he immediately removed his hat and placed it against his left shoulder so that his hand
was directly over his heart. Remember?
And you, I remember, were standing there straight as a shoulder. You didn't have a hat on but you were giving the right
salute. Remember your little sister? Not to be outdone, she was saluting the same as you with her hand over her
heart. Remember?
What happened? I'm still the same Old Flag. Oh, I've added a few more stars since you were a boy, and a lot more blood
has been shed since those parades of long ago. By now, somehow, I don't feel as proud as I used to feel. When I come
down the street, you just stand there with your hands in your pockets. You may give me a small glance, then you look
away. I see children running around you shouting. They don't seem to know who I am. I saw one man take his hat off, and
when he didn't see anyone else take off his or her hat, he quickly put his back on.
Is it a sin to be patriotic today? Have you forgotten what I stand for, and where I've been? Anzio, Guadalcanal, Korea, Vietnam, and Desert Storm!
Take a look at the memorial honor roll and see the names of those patriotic Americans who gave their lives to keep this
republic free. When you salute me, you are actually saluting them.
Well, it won't be long until I'll be coming down the street again. When you see me, please stand straight and place your
hand over your heart, and I'll know that you remembered.
Well, it won't be long until I'll be coming down the street again. When you see me, please stand straight and place your
hand over your heart, and I'll know that you remembered.
I'll salute you by waving back.

MAY 2014 FUNDRAISER MEETING
MAY 2014 FUNDRAISER MEETING

I am a Republican because…

I believe the strength of our nation lies with the individual and that each person’s
dignity, freedom, ability and responsibility must be honored.

I believe in equal rights, equal justice and equal opportunity for all, regardless of
race, creed, sex, age or disability

I believe free enterprise and encouraging individual initiative have brought this nation opportunity, economic growth and prosperity.

I believe government must practice fiscal responsibility and allow individuals to
keep more of the money they earn.

I believe the proper role of government is to provide for the people only those critical functions that cannot be performed by individuals or private organizations and
that the best government is that which governs least.

I believe the most effective, responsible and responsive government is government
closest to the people.

I believe Americans must retain the principles that have made us strong while developing new and innovative ideas to meet the challenges of changing times.

I believe Americans value and should preserve our national strength and pride
while working to extend peace, freedom and human rights throughout the world.

Finally, I believe the Republican Party is the best vehicle for translating these ideals into positive and successful principles of government.
