The development of an effective and efficient public transportation
system has direct impact on the successful urbanisation of a country.
With worldwide populations expanding, the ability to move large numbers
of people safely, quickly and efficiently becomes pivotal for economic

In this aspect, ST Electronics is a pioneer in public transportation solutions,
with an impeccable track record in providing a full suite of rail electronics
solutions and Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) that constantly sets the
standards in technology, safety, efficiency and innovation.
We have equipped governments and organisations around the globe with
comprehensive and integrated transportation, traffic and fleet management
solutions that cover both road and rail. Our accomplishments in this
field are attested by the number of turnkey projects we have completed
successfully in Asia and Middle East, Europe and North and

RAIL ELECTRONICS SOLUTIONS
A forerunner of Smart transportation solutions, ST Electronics has equipped
governments and organisations around the globe with comprehensive and
integrated Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), facilitating the efficient and
seamless movement of large populations across the cities.
We are a leader in rail electronics solutions, having played a role in the
development of Singapore’s Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) system since its
inception in 1984. Globally, we have successfully delivered more than one
hundred transit system projects in Asia, the Middle East and in North and
South America.
Command, Control & Communication System (C3)
The C3 System facilitates the seamless operations of the MRT, providing
real-time supervision and control systems for both individual lines as
well as at the network level. The C3 System also provides full situational
awareness of the entire line’s electrical and mechanical equipment and
enables safe, efficient and effective management of normal MRT operations
as well as during incident and emergency situations.

At the network level, the Metropolitan Traffic Control Centre (MTCC)
showcases the hierarchy of the command control structure and provides
a city-wide situational view of the overall transport network. MTCC can be
integrated with the situational picture from other government agencies,
such as environmental and security situations. Besides supervising and
co-ordinating the metro operations, the MTCC has the ability to manage any
incident or emergency in the station vicinity with real-time data inputs from
the various government agencies that are plugged into the government
network.

Automatic Fare Collection
Automatic Fare Collection System (AFC)
Platform Screen Door System (PSD)
The AFC System is a solution for fare collection and
payment. The state-of-the-art solution is uniquely
designed for the revenue service requirements of
modern transit operations. AFC also enables transit
operators to expand revenue opportunities, exploit
the benefits of payment integration with other transit
operators as well as non-transit service providers.
Designed to meet the needs of MRT networks, the
PSD System improves safety and comfort within the
platform environment. The system is scalable as halfheight or full-height screen door systems, engineered
to meet the heavy-duty requirements of the busiest
MRT systems in the world.
Passenger Information System (PIS)
Our PIS is designed to enhance MRT travel experience
by providing a wide array of information catering to
all transit passengers. The technology delivers realtime information updates and offers a variety of valued
information on-board trains as well as in stations.
Intelligent Maintenance Management
System (iMMS)

The iMMS is an essential part of MRT operations,
which involves the management of large amounts
of assets where operational availability is critical.
Besides registration of the assets, the iMMS automates
and integrates the operational and organisational
maintenance processes, such as fault reporting, asset
management and inventory control, thus optimising
both operational and cost effectiveness.

TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS
Recognised as a leading solutions provider of
innovative intelligent transport systems, we have
been commissioned by Singapore’s Land Transport
Authority (LTA) to develop several systems to facilitate
the seamless operation of Singapore’s transportation
system. ST Electronics has garnered numerous
awards and patents for our solutions, which have
been implemented in the effective operation and
management of Singapore’s land transport system.
Our efforts at harnessing Intelligent Transport System
(ITS) technologies in the areas of command, control
and communications, traffic data collection, fleet
management, sensors integration and telematics, have
contributed significantly to the efficient operations of
various transport systems worldwide.

Today’s increasing demand for more effective and
efficient responses to incidents and operational
management calls for better collaboration across
multiple transportation modes and operators.
For this purpose, ST Electronics’ Integrated Land
Transport Operation Centre equips decision-makers

with an overview of the location of critical transport
resources, such as buses, trains, and other resources
that may be managed by multiple external agencies.
It is an ideal platform for multimodal management of
all modes of transport and infrastructure, providing
the most feasible and economic travel options for
commuters and motorists.
cetrac® Intelligent Land Transport
Management System and Solutions
Recognising the need to integrate disparate traffic
subsystems into a single platform for increased
efficiency, the LTA commissioned ST Electronics to
deliver the i-Transport system – a large-scale and
advanced traffic management system that centralises
the management of various subsystems into a unified
platform.
This project has given rise to the development of the
cetrac® suite of Intelligent Land Transport Management
Systems and Solutions, which unifies various ITS
sub-systems on a single operational platform for
surveillance, incident management, smart junction
management, expressway and major arterial roads
monitoring and advisory management, traffic data
collection, enforcement, traffic light management,
congestion management and tunnel management.

These systems, together with our comprehensive ITS
consultation services, are widely utilised by many
of our global customers, such as those in Chengdu,
Suzhou and Yunnan in China, Saudi Arabia, United Arab
Emirates (UAE) and Kazakhstan.
Unified Maintenance Hub
We have also designed the Unified Maintenance Hub
under the commission of LTA. This hub serves as a
common platform to manage the maintenance of all
traffic systems in Singapore with capabilities that
include the generation and notification of work orders,
preventive maintenance planning and routing, and the
management of feedback and status reports.

FLEET MANAGEMENT & TELEMATICS
SOLUTIONS
Leveraging our ability to integrate telecommunications,
sensors, computing technology and intelligent software
into effective fleet management systems, we have
developed cetrac® suite of Fleet Management Solutions
(FMS), which effectively optimises vehicle booking and
despatch, and efficiently manages multiple fleets for
our customers.
These solutions are installed in over 35,000 vehicles
and vessels worldwide, including those of
ComfortDelGro in Singapore, one of the world’s
largest taxi fleet operators. The system has enabled
ComfortDelgro’s Call Centre to achieve improved call
response rates and significantly reduced the time taken
to process a call.
Innovative Telematics Solutions
Telematics has become an invaluable part of intelligent
transport and fleet management systems. Telematics
Wireless, a subsidiary of ST Electronics, is a key player
in the high growth Machine-to-Machine (M2M) industry
in which machines are connected through wireless
info-communication infrastructures to allow remote
monitoring and control. As a leading terrestrial location
technology provider, the Company has installed over
1 million location tracking devices in major
metropolitan centres, such as Los Angeles, Buenos
Aires, Beijing, Shanghai, Seoul and Sao Paulo. Over
500,000 of the Company’s RFID transponders are also
in use to manage congestion, security and commercial
vehicle operations.
Other global customers that have benefitted from our
technology include China’s Shanghai and Hangzhou
Municipality, Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai
in India, Sharjah Public Transport Corporation in the
UAE and Taiwan Taxi Company.

Intelligent Airport Solution
AIRPORT OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT SOLUTIONS
The key to smooth airport operations lies in the intelligent use of
information to optimise operations and resources.
SERIS – Airport Management Solutions equip operators with situational
awareness in the dynamic airport environment. It offers a shared
collaborative platform that is built on an intelligent sensor network to
optimise available resources and enhance efficiency.

It provides real-time flight information updates and notifications for
passengers, and also features a ‘one glance’ visualisation that allows
airport operators to collaborate, share and create a situational awareness
