Our high quality cell culture products are manufactured in our FDA registered and GMP certified production facilities, among the most modern of its kind in the world. Worldwide presence provides PAA with maximum flexibility to meet the requirements of our customers. Our investment in the future PAA’s cell culture media and buffers in powder form have been on the market since 2009. We are not just content with having the most modern powder mill in operation; we are also prepared for future quality standards by having implemented Process Analytical Technology (PAT). Special product manufacturing and customised fillings are also part of our service. In 2008, we expanded our standard product range with disposables such as plastic labware to give our customers the advantage of purchasing their laboratory supplies conveniently from one source. With our new product line "ATMP-Ready", we are setting a new standard for raw materials in the manufacture of advanced therapy medical products. We are here for you Customer orientation and reliability are not just phrases but good practice. Instead of anonymous call centres, our friendly customer services team attends to you personally. Our qualified technical service as well as your local sales representative is always ready to assist you. Enjoy your new Cell Culture Live. Harry Brack (Sales and Marketing Director) 2 PAA – The Cell Culture Company | www.paa.com Cell Culture Live 7 Leukemia Inhibitory Factor Leukemia Inhibitory Factor (LIF) is a polyfunctional cytokine of the interleukin (IL)-6-family, which shows pleiotropic activities in a variety of tissues and cell types. LIF is naturally produced by epithelial cells of the intestine, uterus, lung or kidney and has pro-and anti-inflammatory properties. Leukemia inhibitory factor binds to the specific LIF receptor and forms a heterodimer with a specific subunit for gp130. By building a trimeric complex with it LIF activates a specific signaling pathway. As a lymphoid growth factor LIF has an impact on the cell cycle, cell viability, proliferation and differentiation of various cell types. Convenient ready to use solution Applications PAA offers recombinant mouse LIF (mLIF) as a ready to use solution in 100 µl and 1 ml pack sizes with highest Murine cell research Growth of different cell types activity. A 100 µl solution (equivalent to106 units) is sufficient to supplement 1000 ml of the culture media. With a 1 ml solution (equivalent to 107 units) 10 litres of culture media can be supplemented. Features High purity (>95%) Highest activity Highest stability Order Information Very low endotoxin Leukemia Inhibitory Factor (mLIF), mouse, recombinant Ready to use solution F0001-008 100 µl (106 units) Source Leukemia Inhibitory Factor (mLIF), mouse, recombinant Recombinant mouse LIF (mLIF) produced in E. coli is a F001-008 1 ml (107 units) single, non-glycosylated, polypeptide chain containing 180 amino acids and has a molecular mass of 20 kDa. After purification, the LIF is reconstituted in sterile PBS containing 0.5 % BSA. Cell counting chambers are basic equipment for cell culture work in the laboratory. Traditional counting chambers are made of glass, which require coverslips making sample preparation a very time consuming process. The novel C-Chip is made of robust plastic with two counting chambers fitted with a clear grid pattern for manual cell counting. It is easy to use and enables reproducible results through precise volume control. Extensive purification Features and Benefits Easy to use Precise and reproducible quantification Clear grid pattern No need for cover slips No need for cleaning and re-use Time and cost saving steps are no longer necessary. Applications Cell Culture – counting and viability Haematology – counting of erythrocytes and leukocytes Microbiology – bacterial and fungal spore counting IVF, IUS – sperm counting Detection area Sample injection Order Information C-Chip Neubauer Improved PAA505050X 50 pieces Brand-New: C-Chip Malassez Cat-No. PAA404040X 50 pieces 4 PAA – The Cell Culture Company | www.paa.com Cell Culture Live 7 Cell Separation The isolation of cells or subcellular particles is the first step for investigations in diagnostics, cell-functionality or gene expression.
