20 Years of Quality and Service
Over the course of the last 20 years, PAA Laboratories has grown into
an international operation with manufacturing and sales on three continents. Our high quality cell culture products are manufactured in our
FDA registered and GMP certified production facilities, among the most
modern of its kind in the world. Worldwide presence provides PAA with
maximum flexibility to meet the requirements of our customers.
Our investment in the future
PAA’s cell culture media and buffers in powder form have been on the
market since 2009. We are not just content with having the most modern powder mill in operation; we are also prepared for future quality
standards by having implemented Process Analytical Technology (PAT).
Special product manufacturing and customised fillings are also part of
our service.
In 2008, we expanded our standard product range with disposables
such as plastic labware to give our customers the advantage of purchasing their laboratory supplies conveniently from one source.
With our new product line "ATMP-Ready", we are setting a new standard for raw materials in the manufacture of advanced therapy medical
products.
We are here for you
Customer orientation and reliability are not just phrases but good practice. Instead of anonymous call centres, our friendly customer services
team attends to you personally.
Our qualified technical service as well as your local sales representative
is always ready to assist you.
Enjoy your new Cell Culture Live.

Leukemia Inhibitory Factor
Leukemia Inhibitory Factor (LIF) is a polyfunctional cytokine of the interleukin (IL)-6-family, which shows
pleiotropic activities in a variety of tissues and cell types. LIF is naturally produced by epithelial cells of the intestine, uterus, lung or kidney and has pro-and anti-inflammatory properties. Leukemia inhibitory factor binds to
the specific LIF receptor and forms a heterodimer with a specific subunit for gp130. By building a trimeric complex with it LIF activates a specific signaling pathway.
As a lymphoid growth factor LIF has an impact on the cell cycle, cell viability, proliferation and differentiation
of various cell types.
Convenient ready to use solution
Applications
PAA offers recombinant mouse LIF (mLIF) as a ready to use

Cell Counting
C-Chip – The New Way of Cell Counting!
Cell counting chambers are basic equipment for cell culture work in the laboratory. Traditional counting chambers
are made of glass, which require coverslips making sample
preparation a very time consuming process. The novel
C-Chip is made of robust plastic with two counting chambers fitted with a clear grid pattern for manual cell counting. It is easy to use and enables reproducible results
through precise volume control. Extensive purification
Features and Benefits
Easy to use
Precise and reproducible quantification

Cell Separation
The isolation of cells or subcellular particles is the first step for investigations in diagnostics, cell-functionality
or gene expression. PAA offers two products for an optimal separation result.

Human serum in cell culture medium provides human cell
lines with an environment more closely matching their
physiological conditions than media containing animal
sera. By using human serum instead of fetal bovine serum
(FBS), human cells are naturally stimulated. The use of FBS
can affect the expression patterns of surface molecules.
