• Who went with you?
• Describe the preparation for the journey.
3) Anecdotal Report
• Your report should be like a diary and tell the story of your adventure.
• You should have an entry for each day, including events that happened on that day.
• Indicate the number of hours and the distance traveled each day.
• If hand written, it should be neat and legible.
4) Equipment List
• List personal gear taken.
• List group equipment taken.
• List safety equipment taken.
5) Menu and Grocery List
• List all the food and drink taken on the journey.
• What was your complete menu for every meal and snack?
6) Map and Route cards
• Include a map or photocopy of the map with the route highlighted, or a hand drawn copy.
• Include completed route cards of the journey.
7) Conclusion
• Include your recommendations and what you experienced. For example – what would you do
differently next time to improve your expedition, what did you enjoy?
8) Photos and/or Illustrations and other Information Deemed Important
• These are not requirements but are welcome additions to your report if you wish to include
them. Pictures are often “worth a thousand words!”
Your Adventurous Journey log is a very important resource. Please make sure that is it
neat and organized. The information you have included inside is very valuable. It will help in the
planning of the future expeditions and will help save time when pursuing your next Award level.
The information inside should be organized so that anyone not familiar with the route or with
limited expedition experience would know what to take, what to pack, what to look for, and what
to consider if they were to go on this trip in the future.
