T
his Saturday, we will sponsor a
family Trunk-or-Treat and Fun
Fair at Primary Academy.
From 5-6, scholars can walk from car
to car in a “trick or treat”
style. We need your
help...the more cars and
families we have participate, the better the experience for our young scholars.
When scholars are
done trunk-or-treating, come inside
for our Family Fun Fair (open from 57). We will have several games to
play, and prizes can be won. We will
also have a “haunted classroom” for
those that dare!
Fun Fair tickets are $.25 or 5/
$1.00. Each game will give at least 1
prize ticket. Some games include
bean bag toss, ring toss, Bozo buckets, skeeball, plinco, and duck pond.
We will also be selling
hotdogs, cotton candy, popcorn, and taffy apples.
Scholars DO NOT have to
participate in trunk-or-treat to
enjoy the fun fair. All fun fair
activities will run from 5-7.
Volunteers are still needed! If
you would like to volunteer for either
activities, please let Mrs. Williams
know!
GHOST-O-GRAMS
A ghost-o-gram is a tootsie pop that is disguised as a ghost
that you can attach your own message to. They will be delivered to
the person of your choosing on Thurs, Oct. 31.
The cost is $1. All orders must be submitted by Wednesday October 30th. Send your
friends or scholar a ghost-o-gram today!
Information will be going home this week….be on
the lookout!

Self-Discipline
This month, our scholars are learning about the character trait selfdiscipline. A children’s definition of self-discipline is the ability to make
yourself to do what you know you should do, when you should do it, whether
you feel like or not! A synonym for self-discipline is self-control. Scholars
who have self-control/self-discipline always do what is right (even when it is
difficult), and control the impulse to do wrong (even when it feels good). A
good example would be doing homework before playing games. As you talk
with your scholars about self-discipline, praise them for doing right even
when it’s difficult.
Explain to your scholars that there are two kinds of discipline, parentdiscipline and self-discipline. Parent-discipline is when parents are constantly
telling the children what they need to do. Self-discipline is when the children
are taking care of certain things without reminders from their parents! Understanding these two concepts can point your child in the right direction!
Parents are Welcome!!!
Parents are welcome in the
building, but we ask that you follow
the policies in the Handbook:
1. Please allow the staff to walk
your students to class! We want
instruction to begin promptly at
7:45, so teachers won’t have time
to talk.
2. You are always welcome to observe in the classroom, but the
visits must be limited to 20
minutes (per handbook).
3. Please make sure you sign in the
office and get a visitor sticker.
Parent Meeting 10/29
We will have two parent meetings on Tuesday 10/29. Both meetings will focus on
bullying—what it is, how it happens, and how bystanders can make a difference. We will
also talk about what primary academy is doing to teach scholars about bullying. Each
meeting will begin with a question-answer session, and Principal Shultz will address any
questions and concerns.
9:00—bagels with Principal Shultz
6:00—snacks with Principal Shultz
You can also have your parent participation card punched. When your card is full, you’ll
earn a free uniform shirt/sweatshirt for your scholar.
