We'll venture outdoors and observe our insect friends, and use our magnifying glasses and collection nets. We’ll practice our letters and writing when we produce our own field guide! Journey to an enchanted kingdom-- accompanied by our favorite characters. We’ll read stories about Peter Pan, Shrek, Elsa and Anna, and more. We’ll make a classroom size map of the enchanted kingdom, showing the treasures and hazards we may find. We’ll practice our alphabet and letters, write an enchanted forest book, and practice our math. Our guide to our enchanted kingdom will be a wizard/fairy of our choice! Tales of Heroes, Heroines, & Villains/Creative Computer Storytelling Grades 2-3 Dye Learn the art of storytelling and writing as we enter the world of heroes, heroines, and great villains. We will read some of the classic tales and then compose our own stories. After illustrating our stories with our artwork, we will bring them to life using web-based storytelling programs and animation. Marine Science Grades 3-4 DiBenedetto Join our exploration of the vast oceans that cover our planet! As marine biologists we’ll investigate ocean creatures such as humpback whales, sea turtles, sharks, jellyfish, and discover how they survive in the everchanging ocean environment. We’ll explore microscopic plants, coral reefs, and powerful tides. As concerned oceanographers, we’ll seek conservation measures to protect our oceans and ocean life. Geography, research, games, and scientific investigation will aid us on our exploration . Kilimanjaro Expedition Grades 4-6 Holcomb It is 1889. Forensics Investigator Grades 4-6 Hiles-Newman Join your forensics team as a junior crime fighter. Using technology and your wits, learn the techniques of examining crime scenes, interviewing suspects, collecting evidence, examining fingerprints, and using DNA analysis. Solve a mystery a week.
