One Pastor’s Heart—Well, here’s how things led up to my receiving two
new heart stents last Monday. First, I had experienced the first sign of chest pain on Pam Borie
Saturday morning in the gym. It was the first time in my life to feel this, because the
first stent and the diagnosis of cardiac arterial disease in 2011 did not include any
symptoms at all, leading up to it. So, all I did was to slow down on the treadmill and
watch my heart rate. The pain subsided. The rest of Saturday and throughout Sunday, no symptoms. Then, at 6:00 Monday morning as I arrived at the gym, the pain
returned, but I had not even gotten into the workout yet. So, I got onto the treadmill,
jogged for a while and monitored my heart rate. By the time I arrived home around
8:00 I knew I wanted to tell Lynne about it and see what she thought, Because there
was chest pain, she thought we should start by calling the dr.’s office. Anyway, we
wound up in the E.R. and the rest is history. Now, I know what cardiac chest pain
feels like, and also what it feels like when this wonderful church family comes
alongside to express genuine love and concern. Thank You! My doctor asked me
the moment he inserted the main stent how my chest felt. The relief was immediate.
I am so grateful to God, for a loving wife, and dear church family. See you in
