Non Fiction:
Research using Dinosaur Information Books
Writing labels, lists, captions, lists and instructions
Information texts to create a class booklet

Onomatopoeia and Dinosaur shape poetry

Being Rock, Volcano and Fossil Detectives
The children will have P.E. on a Thursday afternoon.
This term will focus on Multi-skills and Fitness.
Year 2s will be Swimming every Friday
up until Christmas
(Year 1s start in the Spring term)
Topic: Dinosaurs
The children will:
make Papier Mache dinosaur eggs, dinosaur collages,
junk model dinosaurs, Plaster of Paris fossils,
salt dough bones, yoghurt pot volcanoes,
textured stamp and potato prints...
...as well as Dinosaur making and jungle creating for our
exciting ‘Dinosaur Land’ Role play area and display!
be Dinosaur detectives, write up our findings and create our own
dinosaur designs using Ipads.
Animals including Humans
Comparing living and non-living things
The differences and similarities of human and dinosaur
body parts
use Atlases and Maps to look up where
Dinosaur bones have been discovered!
We will also learn dinosaur songs and dances
…and much more!
