Homework Friday 24th February 2017
Bug Club and Spelling City
The children should be logging onto Bug Club and Spelling City to complete
their assigned books and activities 2-3 times per week. Spending time on Bug
Club will really help to improve the children’s reading and comprehension
skills. Spelling City is also really important to help the children learn their
spellings in a fun and interesting way. The spelling words they get each week
run alongside the spelling programme we are doing daily in school. Please keep
on going with these, if you need a reminder of your login then please let me
know.
English Homework
The children’s presentations on real life historical heroes this week were
fabulous! I could tell that they all worked really hard on them!
This week, I would like the children to research the author Michael Morpurgo.
We are going to be focusing on one of his novels ‘cool!’ in class and it would
be great for them to get some background information on the author.
Maths Homework
This term we are going to be looking at measurements and we are beginning
with time. This week, I would like the children to think about their daily
routines and the things they do at certain times of the day. They will need to
write down their routine with the activities they have done and the times they
did them for 3 days of the week. This will help the children get an understanding
of time, the amount of time things take, why things have to be done on time and
how much they are able to fit into 1 day.
Spellings
This week the children have been looking at the soft c that makes the ‘s’ sound.
For example, nice and face. These spellings are on the back of this sheet to
practice and they also have an assignment including these on Spelling City.
