Sew through both of these loops of beads again if needed to keep them from slipping. Step 2: work in peyote stitch around the 32 beads that surround the pearl, as follows: (Peyote stitch)Sew through the first Delica bead. Pick up one Delica bead, skip the next one in the row, and sew through the next. Repeat around, you will have added exactly 16 Delica beads. Keep the thread tight, the beads will line up as in the third diagram. Don’t worry if the beads don’t lay flat against the pearl. Step 3: to start the next row, make sure you sew through the first bead from step 2, marked with an X. Pick up one Delica bead, sew through the next bead from step 2, all the way around the pearl. Step 4 :start the next row, make sure you sew through the first bead from step 3, marked with an X. Pick up one size 15 bead, and sew through the next bead from step 3, all the way around the pearl. Keep tension fairly tight, the beadwork should now form around the pearl. Step 5: Weave through the beadwork, and exit thread from any bead on the opposite side of the original row from step 1. Repeat step 3 Step 6, repeat step 4 Your beadwork should like the final diagram and fit fairly snuggly around the pearl, although the pearl can still rotate. Embellishing the pearl: The larger seed beads are sewn on top of the base rows of Delica beads. Weave through the beadwork and exit from any of the beads in the center-most row. Pick up one size 11 seed bead; sew through the next Delica bead in that middle row. Repeat around the pearl, adding exactly 16 seed beads. Weave through the beads to the next row of Delica beads to the left of the last row of seed beads. Repeat adding another row of seed beads. Shown above as large blue beads. Weave through the beads and exit from any of the first row of seed beads. You will sew another row of the large size 8 seed beads on top of this row of size 11 seed beads. Weave through a few beads to secure the thread, leave the tail ends for joining the pearls. To Join the pearls: Sew through and exit any of the large size 8 beads on the outer edge. Pick up 2 size 15 beads, sew through a size 8 bead from another pearl, pick up one size 8 bead, sew through the next size 8 bead of the same pearl, pick up 2 size 15 beads, sew into the next size 8 bead on the first pearl. Sew through all of these beads as many times as you can to secure. Thread path is a figure 8 as per diagram. Sew together as many pearls as you need for the length of the bracelet. Beaded circle toggle: Pick up exactly 34 Delica beads. Sew through this length of beads again and pull up into a circle. Row 1: work in peyote stitch (as you did around the pearl) with one row of Delica beads. Row 2 : to start the next row, make sure you sew through the first bead from row 1, marked with an X. Pick up one size 11 seed bead , sew through the next bead from row 1, all the way around the ring. Row 3 is a repeat of row 2 Row 4 is a repeat of row 2 , but using the large size 8 seed beads. Weave over to the opposite side of the ring of 34 beads, and repeat rows 2, and 3 only Your work should look like the last diagram. Keep tension tight, the beadwork will start to fold together. Joining: weave the last row of size 11 seed beads to the last row of size 8 seed beads, pull thread tightly. You should test that a large pearl will fit through this ring, but not too easily. Attach this beaded ring to the end of the bracelet with the same method as joining the pearls. To attach the large pearl to the opposite bracelet end, add a new thread if required. Exit thread from between 2 size 8 beads, pick up 5 Delica beads, sew through the large pearl, pick up one size 8 bead, and 3 small size 15 beads. Sew back down the size 8 bead, down the pearl, and down the 5 Delica beads. Sew into the bracelet, weave through a few beads, and sew through all of the new beads twice more. Weave in all thread tail ends. Copyright: www.thatbeadlady.com
