Alumni Spotlight
“St. Pete's has been a part of the
Hamburg community for many
years. It is a privilege that I think
we sometimes take for granted. I
am so grateful to be a part of this
"cornerstone of the community"
and that so many people still
value this very important source
faith in action,” - Anne Maggio
Anne Marie Chlebowski Maggio ‘81
Sometimes, we don’t
have to travel too far to
find an alumni who is
doing great things...to
kick start this section,
we’d like to introduce
you to our very own, Anne Marie Chlebowski Maggio. She
serves as our school librarian and has most recently been
honored by Immaculata Academy as a Distinguished
Alumnae!
Q: It's been 35 years since you graduated from SSPP. How do you feel your
education and experiences here at SSPP shaped you?
A: In the 35 years since my graduation from St. Pete's, I recognize and appreciate the
foundation I received here. The strong educational foundation prepared me for high
school and college, but more importantly the moral and faith foundation that I developed
here has carried me professionally and personally.
Q: You've sent your children through SSPP, what was your inspiration for
wanting to continue the tradition of Catholic education at your alma mater?
A: My husband and I chose Catholic education for our children based on our own
experience as products of Catholic education. For us, it was important that our son and
daughter received moral and faith based lessons along-side their standard education.
We believe that our children's success in high school, college, and grad school can be
traced back to the lessons they received here at St. Pete's. We specifically chose St.
Pete's, partly for sentiment, but more so because we saw the success of graduates in
my siblings, cousins, and young people in the Hamburg community.
Q: You were recently honored by Immaculata Academy as a distinguished
alumnae. How did that feel?
A: Last year, I was honored to be selected as one of Immaculata Academy's
distinguished alumnae. It was such a surprise and made me really take a look at the
importance my Catholic education had in who I am as a person.
Q: Through your tenure at SSPP, how have you seen our students grow into
outstanding adults? How has it felt to be able to have been a part of their
foundation years?
A: In the many years that I have been here at St. Pete's, it has been such a joy to
watch the young faces mature and blossom. It is so gratifying to have them come back
to visit a year, two years, even ten years later to come and share memories of their
days at St. Pete's and share their journey since then.
Q: What are your hopes for our present student body as they continue to develop
in their faith and educational life here at SSPP?
A: Our present students are such a wonderful group of children! They are so eager to
learn and explore our world. I hope that during their time here at SS. Peter and Paul
School that they learn from the example of our fabulous staff and faculty and find the joy
in education and the foundation of faith I found here at St. Pete's.
