CPA Series One-Piece, Pipe Ended, Adjustable DISASSEMBLY 1. Place valve body in vise. Loosen locking screw and adjusting screw from outlet side to relieve spring tension. Use 5/32 in. hex key for 4CPA and 5/16 in. hex key for 8CPA. Note: Removal of these parts is not required. 2. Remove insert lock screw from inlet with 3/16 in. hex key wrench for 4CPA and 3/8 in. hex key wrench for 8CPA. 3. Force insert out by pushing against poppet with blunt pin inserted through the outlet port. Remove poppet and spring. 4. Inspect parts to be re-used; poppet, set screw, seat, adjusting nut, and lock nut, if removed. Before reassembly, be certain that all components are clean and free of contaminants and nicks. REASSEMBLY 1. Lubricate O-ring with thin film of system compatible lubricant and assemble O-ring onto groove of insert. Be sure O-ring is fully seated. 2. Place spring, poppet, and insert with O-ring into inlet. Note: For 8CPA, 350- 600 spring only, TFE coated end of spring must be opposite poppet. 3. Secure assemblies by threading the insert lock screw into position and tighten as follows: Valve Series Valve Material Brass Stainless Steel 4CPA 45 in∙lb 85 in∙lb 8CPA 200 in∙lb 300 in∙lb 4. Set adjusting screw to obtain desired cracking pressure and lock firmly in place with locking screw. Use 5/32 in. hex key wrench for 4CPA and 5/16 in. hex key wrench for 8CPA. 5.
