About the speaker
David Fung
– BIM Division Head, Senior Associate,
Division Head of BIM, Aedas Ltd
David is a Hong Kong
Registered Architect and
the Head of BIM Division
of architectural practice.
BIM has been the main
design and documentation tools for his works
for over 10 years. BIM
projects include residential
towers,
houses,
offices,shopping centers,
churches,universities,
logistic center, MTR
stations. His BIM team
won the HK BIM Award
and International BIM
Award in 2007. He
teaches BIM technology
in different universities
such as HKU, PolyU,
H K U S PA C E , Ts i n g h a i
University. He leads
internal BIM training to
architects.
He
was
speaker for various BIM
forums and conferences
to different professional
institutions in Hong
Kong, Shanghai, Beijing,
Tokyo and Seoul. He is
also the current Chairman of Architect Industry
Advisory
Board
aiming also at promoting
the BIM technology and

About the seminar
There is a growing wave of Building Information Modelling (BIM) usage around the
building industry all over the world. BIM
is beginning to show significant improvements in different aspect of the projects
and knowledgeable clients are now
demand more of the BIM usage. The
introduction of BIM requires a team effort
that may include clients, architects, engineers
and
contractors,
etc.
In this seminar, we will listen to 4 speakers
from Architectural and Engineering professionals on how they successfully use
the latest technology in their projects to
satisfy clients’ stringent requirements
more
efficiently
and
effectively.
Dickson Mak
– Associate, Design Architect and BIM Specialist, HOK
Dickson Mak graduated from the
School of Architecture of USC, and
was licensed in the State of
Arizona. He first joined HOK since
2002 in Los Angles, and relocated
to their Hong Kong office three
years ago. He has been playing
the leading role in implementing
BIM technologies in both local
offices, and recently assumed the
role of BIM Specialist for all four
HOK

Pacific
office.
Samson Wong
-Registered Architect, Aedas Ltd
The speaker is both a registered
architect & computer programmer. He has developed a
computer system on top of BIM to
automate a number of time
consuming tasks required for the
building industry. This includes
the automatic generation of
government submission, statutory calculation, detail drawings,
specifications & bills of quantity.
He will illustrate how can it
improve the efficiency and consistency
of
the
works.
Sammy Ng
–Associate, Building Engineering(Structural ), AECOM
Ir Sammy Ng is an Associate in the
Building Engineering of AECOM
Asia
Company
Limited
(incorporating former Maunsell
Structural
Consultants
Ltd.)
Sammy has over 15 years of
practical experience in the design
and construction supervision for a
number of variety projects both in
private and government sectors.
He is currently the Structural
Engineer for the project of Hong
Kong Science Park Building 20
which adopted BIM in both the
design stage and construction
stage. Recently, he is the head of
the BIM Working Group Committee in Building Engineering
Business Services Line in Hong
Kong office of AECOM. He has
driven progressively in applying
BIM in several recent projects. He
has also been playing the leading
role in implementing the BIM
application of design production
in daily operations in local and
