WHO’S WHO IN THE CAST

KEVIN ALAN (Dad/Judge) is a recent graduate from the
University of Florida's Musical Theater program. He was last
seen as Osgood in Sugar, and Pseudolus in Forum. He would
like to thank his beautiful wife and his family for their support.
MICHAEL KIRK (Fluffy/Stanley) holds a degree in Theatre
and Musical Theatre from Siena Heights University. Regional
credits include: Pippin in Pippin, Horton in Seussical, Huck in
Big River and numerous as a Resident Artist at Flint Youth
Theatre. Lane has also worked as a Teaching Artist with
students in MI, OH, and NY. Thanks to family and friends.
BILL COYNE (Jason/McKenzie) New York: A Little Night

F. MICHAEL HAYNIE (Michael) BFA NYU: Tisch. NY: Judas
in Jesus Christ Superstar, Into the Woods, Company,
Urinetown (NYU); Regional: Seymour in Little Shop of Horrors
(Darien Music Theatre); Pirates of Penzance, She Loves Me,
Drood! (Canterbury Summer Theatre). Thanks: Friends,

BRITTANY PROIA (Mom/Sanjay) is thrilled to be a part of
Theatreworks USA and this amazing show! Originally from
Olney, MD, she recently graduated magna cum laude from
NYU's Steinhardt school. NYU credits: The Golden Apple,
Edges, The Boyfriend, and Romeo & Juliet. Other credits:
Ragtime (Evelyn Nesbit), Into the Woods (Cinderella), The
Music Man (Marion Paroo), The Last Five Years, Gypsy
(Louise) and Children of Eden (Eve). Thanks to John, Jen,

JEREMY MORSE (Norman) is a May 2008 graduate of the
NYU Steinhardt Program in Vocal Performance, Music
Theatre. Recent credits: My Fair Lady at The Ogunquit
Playhouse, Queen Esther at Merkin Hall, Floyd Collins at the
Frederick Loewe Theatre, and he was Assistant Director
on The Black Suits at The Public Theatre. He would like to
thank his mom and dad for their support, and John, Jen, and
Joe for this amazing opportunity!
MK LAWSON (Patty Jenkins) is stoked to be taking this
rockin’ new musical on the road with Theatreworks USA!
Favorite credits include: George M! (Ensemble/Accordionist),
Cabaret (Frenchie), Carousel (Carrie Pipperidge), Language
of Angels (Danielle), and 42nd Street (Ensemble). Last
spring, MK received her Master of Music degree in Vocal
Performance from NYU Steinhardt.
JOE ICONIS (Book, Music, Lyrics) is the proud recipient of a
Kleban Award and a Larson Award, and is the composer in
residence at Ars Nova. His garage-band rock musical The
Black Suits was recently seen at SPF @ The Public Theater
and is primed to conquer the world any day now. Joe has
worked a ton with most of the folks on this stage and behind
the scenes, and he is very stoked to be doing a real show in a
real theater with the whole gang. Joe never thanks his family
in his bios, but feels like he should this time. Thanks, family.

of the good people at Datlon’s 9th Ave, as well as Jeremy and

JOHN SIMPKINS (Director) recently directed The Black Suits
for the Summer Play Festival at the Public Theatre. Other
directing: Annie and Cabaret (Sacramento Music Circus),
Evita (Lyric Theatre of Oklahoma), Things to Ruin: The Songs
of Joe Iconis (Ars Nova, Joe’s Pub, NYMF), Go-Go Beach
(NYMF), Queen Esther (Merkin Hall). Readings/ Workshops:
Next Thing You Know (Salzman/ Cunningham), Half Married
(Cunningham/ Antin), Plastic! and You Don’t Know Jack (York
Theatre), Bad Kid School (Barrington), 29, Blood Drive
(Sheinkin), Beasts and Saints (Dickstein), Like You Like It.
John is a member of the music theatre faculty at New York
University - where he has directed Floyd Collins, Urinetown,
Merrily We Roll Along, Parade and A New Brain. Upcoming
projects include a production of Violet this fall (NYU).
JENNIFER WERNER (Choreographer) is thrilled to continue
her creative association with Joe Iconis and John Simpkins
with The Plant That Ate Dirty Socks following The Black Suits
(SPF/The Public Theatre.) Her choreography includes ABC’s
upfronts Ugly Betty; NFL National commercials; As Long As
We Both Shall Laugh (Roundabout Theatre); the Drama
League’s Spring Gala (hosted by David Hyde Pierce); as well
as numerous Regional productions of Cabaret. Jennifer’s
credits an Associate Choreographer or Associate Director:
Follies (Encores!), Winnie the Pooh (International Tour), La
Cage aux Folles and Fiddler on the Roof (Ogunquit
Playhouse), and the U.S. and Australian Tours of Cabaret.
She has had a long-standing relationship with NYU
choreographing Floyd Collins, A New Brain, Merrily We Roll
Along and Urinetown. Upcoming projects this year include
choreographing My Fair Lady (Ogunquit Playhouse), Phantom
(NC Theatre), and performing in Minsky’s (Casey Nicholaw,
Director/Choreographer) at the Ahmanson Center in LA.
DENISE R. ZEILER (Stage Manager) is a proud member of
AEA. She just completed the first regional production of Rent
as part of the 43rd season at the Weathervane. Favorite NY
credits include Threepenny Opera, Henry V, Ethan Frome and
The Man Inside My Head with Darius DeHaas. National tours
include Henry & Mudge, Junie B. Jones, Great Expectations
among others. Thanks to all who help me daily.
