This is my
presentation
about electricity.
By:Cassidee M.
What is electricity?
Electricity is the
movement of electrons.
There are different kinds of electricity.
One of them is static electricity.
Static electricity is when electrons jump
from one object to another.Static
electricity can make your hair stick up,
shock you, etc.
What is a electric
current?
A electric current is a
stream of negative
charges.
These are the steps that describe
the movement of electric charges
in a closed circuit.
1.charges leave the negative side of the dry cell.
2.charges move through the switch.
3.charges move from the switch to the light bulb.
4.charges move through the light bulb.
5.charges move through the wire leading back to
the positive side of the dry cell.
What will happen to a buzzer
connected to an open circuit?
A buzzer connected to an open
circuit will not work because the
electrons will not move around
the circuit.
The buzzer is not
working because
the circuit is open.
What is a series circuit?
A series circuit is a
circuit where all of
the parts are
connected in 1
loop.
What is a parallel circuit?
A parallel circuit is a circuit that can light up
more than one bulb and has 2 loops.
What is wrong
with the
picture to the
left?
Electric current can flow only
through a circuit that is _____.
A.open
B.diagramed
C.closed
D.positive
Wires are often made of copper because
copper_____________
A.is a filament
B.has high resistance
C.is a good conductor
D.is a good insalator
MAGNETS!!!!
This are the
magnet slides.
These are some facts about magnets,
●
●
●
●
●
Magnets are objects that produce an area of magnetic force called a
magnetic field.
Magnets only attract certain types of metals, other materials such as
glass, plastic and wood aren't attracted.
Metals such as iron, nickel and cobalt are attracted to magnets.
Most metals however are not attracted to magnets, these include
copper, silver, gold, magnesium, platinum, aluminium and more. They
may however magnetize a small amount while placed in a magnetic
field.
Magnetism can attract magnetic objects or push them away.
What are north and south poles
of magnets?
● Magnets have a magnetic north pole and a
magnetic south pole. If the same pole of two
magnets are placed near each other they will
push away (repel), while if different poles are
placed near each other they will pull together
(attract).
ELECTROMAGNETS!!!!!
●
Electromagnets are created by an electric current running
through a surrounding coil. They have many uses including the
generation of electricity in hydroelectric dams.
LODESTONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lodestone was the first magnet.
Lodestone is a piece of magnetite that has magnetic properties and
attracts iron or steel or one that attracts strongly.
There is a cool story u can check out on the internet about
lodestone!!!
Magnet experiments!
If you attach a bar magnet to a piece of
wood and float it in a bowl of water, it will
slowly turn and the magnet's north pole
will point towards the earth's north pole.
If you put a bar magnet under a sheet of
paper and sprinkle iron powder lightly over
the top, you will suddenly see the invisible
magnetic field as the particles stick to it.
What is a magnet?????
A magnet is a piece of metal that attracts
and pushes away other pieces of metal.
The Bullet!!!!!!!!!!!!
There is a very cool train called the
bullet.It runs on magnets.It actually
levitates!Do u know why? It is because
the magnets repel.
What force?
A student wraps a wire around an iron
nail. The student then connects the
wire to a battery. The nail attracts
another nail and they stick together.
What force holds the two nails
together?
Magnetic force.
That was my presentation about
electricity and magnets !!!
