2015-2016 PRIDE Survey Results Summary 942 students surveyed (grades 7, 8, 10 , and 12) Most Recent Survey Administration February 2016 Homewood City Schools Pride Survey Summary 2016 What is the Pride Survey? The Pride survey is an anonymous questionnaire administered to students to gather information on student behaviors, attitudes, and perceptions regarding drug and alcohol use. For more information go to www.pridesurveys.com Do students answer the survey questions honestly? Some students are dishonest on the survey. There is a built in “lie detector” that voids a survey if it detects inconsistent answers. Those surveys are not included in our data. What are some key points in the 2016 Pride data? Children whose parents talk to them about the dangers of drugs and set clear rules regarding no drug use, are less likely to use. Student's perception that their parents disapprove of them using alcohol or other drugs is increasing. Homewood students are using alcohol, marijuana, and prescription medications at a rate lower (this is a change from last administration) than the national average.
