When Your Loss Brings Gain

When Your Loss Brings Gain
Philippians 3:4-11 (NKJV)
1. What is the danger in placing an unhealthy emphasis in our family heritage,
or educational pedigree, or work status, or anything else on the “outside” that
gives us great confidence? (vs. 4-6)
2. Like Paul, why is it necessary for us to surrender to Christ all we have
attained or accomplished, in order to gain something far greater than earthly
success and riches? How can those old things hold us back? (vs. 7-9)
3. Paul counted his old life as rubbish compared to the new life he gained
through Christ. Share an example of how you experienced the same insight in
your own life. (vs. 7-9)
4. What does it mean to “know” God? What are some practical things we can
do to truly know God in a more intimate way? (vs. 10)
5. How does the “power of His resurrection” help us know God? (vs. 10)
6. What does the “fellowship of His sufferings” mean? How does this
fellowship of suffering also help us know God? (vs. 10)
