th
Congratulations on being selected to participate in the 2015 Area Code and East Coast Pro Tryouts held June 13 -16 . It’s an honor
to be recommended to tryout under the recommendation of a professional scout and it means you have separated yourself as one
of the better players in the northeast.
Tryouts are FREE OF CHARGE to all players! The sole purpose of the tryouts is to identify potential prospects/candidates for one or
many of the 2015 Northeast Pro Scouts Sponsored Teams and/or for the 2016 MLB Amateur Draft. The Northeast Professional
Scouts conduct these tryouts in the most efficient way to select players for these respective teams. Although hundreds of college
coaches will be present, this is NOT a college showcase and will not be conducted as such. We are not obligated to give each player
an equal and fair tryout although that is what we strive to accomplish.
Each player is required to register and participate in ONLY ONE scheduled tryout of their choice. Review your personal schedule,
exam schedule and sports schedule for any conflicts prior to registering. Players will be selected from those initial three tryouts to
th
participate in a CALLBACK Tryout on Wednesday, June 17 in Northborough, MA. If you are asked to return for the Callback Tryout
or selected to the final rosters, you will be notified by e-mail or by phone. Please DON’T e-mail or contact any of the staff regarding
the callback tryout or the final roster selections, we will contact you.
Tryout Attire - Each player is responsible to have baseball pants, baseball belt, sneakers, cleats, baseball hat, wooden bat, glove and
any other equipment needed to tryout. Each player will receive a numbered T-Shirt at the registration desk that corresponds to
their name on the roster. Please do not show up in shorts, cutoff shirts, sandals or anything that is not accepted baseball attire.
Remove all jewelry and piercings prior to registering.
Food and Drink - Please bring your own snacks and beverages that you will need for your corresponding workouts/tryouts. No
vending machines or food vendors will be available during tryouts.
Acknowledgments - Travel and expenses to and from and during any tryout, game or tournament is 100% your responsibility. That
includes any flights, meals and hotel costs associated with any of the trips if selected. Being selected to participate is extremely hard
st
if you consider that only 6% of the players who tryout make one of the teams. If selected, this should be your 1 priority when it
comes to baseball superseding any other game, team or tournament that you are a member. These teams compete against the
best in the United States at the high school amateur level, an opportunity that is extremely rare and highly privileged for those who
are selected.
Registration Forms - Please have all your registration information printed and completed prior to your tryout so the registration
process goes smoothly the day of your tryout. Please staple the player cover sheet on top of your waiver & release and have it with
you when you check in. We will NOT have blank copies available so please come prepared. Players or Parents who fail to complete
the necessary paperwork will NOT be allowed to participate in any baseball activities. NO Exceptions!
Recommendations - You must be recommended by a Full-Time Professional Scout Representing 1 of 30 Major League Baseball
Teams. If you have received an invitation by your summer travel coach or an Associate Scout, it is not valid. An Access/Validation
Code is required to receive a Registration Confirmation Letter from us. Without the proper validation code your registration will not
be accepted. If you present yourself at the day of the tryout without the proper paperwork, invitation, confirmation letter and
validation code, you will be turned away.
Congratulations again on being recommending for the 2015 Area Code and East Coast Pro Tryouts. We look forward to seeing you
on the day of your workout.
Regards,
Tim Alexander, Scout Supervisor-Tampa Bay Rays
Northeast Professional Scouts Organizer
