What do you feel are your qualifications to serve on the board of Directors: I have a great understanding
in technology and its future in web/mobile development. I’ve lived and worked in the area since 2001
and have developed many business connections and friendships that will benefit the Coop’s Board of
Directors.
What are the biggest challenges and the most important issues facing your cooperative? Keeping the
coop financially stable and understanding what members are expecting of us.
As a director, how to do propose working on and solving those issues? Trusting the James Valley Coop
leadership team to make the right decisions and continue to keep the coop financially stable. The board
will help guide their decisions and make sure that we’re on the right path.
Welcome Todd, we look forward to your time on the JVT Board of Directors.

“What types of communication technology will you count on to function in
your adult life?”
Landon Fischbach
As I have grown up, I have seen continual advancements in communications technology. Technology enables us to
keep in touch with friends and relatives worldwide. It also allows businesses to interact with other businesses and
customers throughout the world and for business related transaction to be processed efficiently. It allows companies
to advertise to a wider distribution group and to reach consumers in a variety of ways including text messaging and
social media. Technology allows consumers to find products and services that may or may not be readily available in
local communities. Communication technology enhances the exchange of ideas, results in problems being identified
more rapidly and quicker resolution. Currently, I utilize communication technology daily in my e-learning studies.
Students can attend classes at a remote location and participate in a classroom with other students from across the
state. Technology allows me to take classes like AP Statistics that wouldn’t be offered at a smaller school.
The types of communication I depend on are email, Skype, Facetime, Facebook, Twitter and cell phone technology.
I plan to continue to use these as I enter adulthood. All of these have uses which can be beneficial to both students
and adults. Email can be used for quick communication with people and businesses. Skype is a technology which
allows you to sit at your computer or phone and have a face-to-face chat with a friend or relative. Facetime allows
that same functionality as Skype but is a newer technology. Facebook allows people to keep in touch with one
another, find out about events in each other’s life and see photos that friends and family post. It allows businesses
to advertise their products and services. Twitter has become a big market place pull since national celebrities
have joined it. Twitter allows people to “tweet” about everyday happenings in their life and allows others to follow
their tweets. Cell phone technology has evolved immensely over my lifetime. With cell phones we are able to call
anywhere in the world and get instant news feeds and access to the internet. As technology evolves, we must all
continue to be flexible and eager to learn. Technology is there to make things easier and run more smoothly for us.
As a society we must continue to be advocates. It is our duty to become professionals at mastering the world of
technology.
