Wow! We had a great campout at Highlands Hammock last month. Hope you didn't
have to miss it. What a beautiful State Park and the weekend weather was GREAT. Some of
us arrived early on Thursday and spent a lazy day just enjoying the park. We danced in the
afternoon on Friday, which was kind of a nice change from the norm and after eating dinner at
Coby’s Restaurant we all gathered around a campfire. A delicious breakfast of Apple Pancakes (Thanks to the Churches) on Saturday AM was enjoyed by all of us. Due to a mix-up
by the park over-booking their hall, our club meeting had to be moved to the campsite. As always we had GREAT calling by Sonny McCartney & GREAT cuing by Chuck Ryall and a few
visitors from the campground at the dances. We hope a good time was had by all.
Here's the scoop for this month: We are sharing with Chapter 143.
 When you check-in the campground, we are all listed as Chapter 143 and will be
paying their weekend dance fee, and the 50/50 proceeds will go to our chapter.
Our February Theme is “MARDI GRAS”
Thursday: If you are coming on Thursday, bring some hamburgers (or hot dogs) for
yourself and a little something else to share. We will grill the burgers and
have a mini potluck.
Friday:
2:00 PM Welcome Coffee & Cookies by Chapter 143 in the Rec Hall.
This is a great opportunity for both our chapters to get acquainted.
(Help with the finger foods is appreciated.)
Friday Dinner - 4:00 PM dinner out at a nearby restaurant. Hopefully we can
decide on the place at the Welcome Coffee. Everyone is invited!
Friday Night Dance - Casual Attire
Early Rounds at 6:30 PM
Square & Rounds Alternate at 7 till 9:00… After Party (bring snacks)
Saturday:
Breakfast - Cooking begins at 8:00 AM - Eating begins about 8:30 AM
Everyone is invited - bring a breakfast item to share. If your item
needs cook ing (bacon, sausage, eggs,etc) you can help with the cooking.
We have pancake mix to use up, so plain, blueberry & Choc-chip for sure !
10:00 AM Square Dance Workshop (143) Everyone invited - (come learn to
‘cross your neighbor’ & ‘square the action’, (hope I got that right!)
193 Club Meeting time (to be announced)
2:00 PM Afternoon - 143 does games & Workshop if there’s interest.
