Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. School is dismissed at 1:42pm on Wednesday.
Please take time to read the Student Handbook that was provided to each student on
the first day of school. This handbook provides information about our school’s mission
statement, awards, discipline, communications, curriculum, grading, motivational plans,
as well as health and safety guidelines. Also, please refer to the Technology Use Agreement Form (green form) you received when checking out your student’s device, for more
information regarding student technology devices.
Additionally, we have hired several new teachers this year: 1st Grade - Cristy Hansen and
Elvera Salinas (Mrs. Tornquist’s team-teacher partner), 3rd Grade - Vanessa Kobrock,
Music - Yohan Partan, and Art - Amy Zschaber. Please join me in welcoming these new
teachers to our school.
We are fortunate at Whitmore Charter to have such an outstanding staff of educators
who put children first. It is my hope that this academic year will be the best ever for your
child. Once again, welcome back and if you have any concerns, questions or suggestions,
please do not hesitate to contact me at 209-556-1610. - David Viss, Principal

One:World Technology Roll-Out
This is a very exciting school year for Ceres Unified. Countless hours have gone into preparation
for rolling out over 14,000 technology devices district-wide! Students in grades (K-1) will receive
a tablet. Students in grades (2-12) will receive a Chromebook. Please ensure your student is
bringing his/her device to school every day, fully charged for use in the classroom.
We understand the concerns related to damage or loss of these devices. To
help alleviate these concerns Ceres Unified will provide a low cost insurance
option priced at $10 per student/annually (capped at $40 per family). More
information can be found at the One:World link on our school web page.
