COURSE DESCRIPTION/Objectives/ Outcomes
This course provides an introduction to basic human rights law, principles, instruments and institutions. It will address the three generation of
rights including civil and political and economic and social rights. The structure and standards of international human right organizations and
committees will also be assessed. Various international and regional human rights systems and legal instruments pertaining to Europe, Americas,
Africa and the Arab world will be covered. The last part of the course will examine current human rights issues and debates in the field of human
rights with particular focus on Pakistan.
