Jigsaw Puzzle 1 (Pictures)
This puzzle may work best as a group activity. In advance of
the activity, make a copy of the template.
• You will be dividing the class into several groups, depending on the
number of students.
• Use the template to make one copy of the picture puzzle for each of the
groups.
• Cut out the pieces for each puzzle for each group. Put each complete set
of pieces into a separate envelope so they stay together and don’t get
lost.
• Hand out the envelopes to each group, with the warning not to open
them until you call, “Start your puzzles now!”
• The first group to put the entire puzzle together and call out the subject
of the picture (e.g., “rainy day,” “boy with umbrella,” “wet weather”)
wins. (Groups can’t win by anticipating the answer; the entire puzzle has
to be completed to qualify.)
