Purple Haze - Ellen Stirling Primary School

Good Afternoon Everyone
Ellen Stirling Primary School participates in
an annual fundraising event for an
organisation outside of our school community.
The Starlight Children’s Foundation is well
known, they brighten the lives of seriously ill
and hospitalised children in WA.
With the support of our P&C, Dr Goldspink
and the Administration Team, we will be
holding a “Purple Haze Day” on Wednesday,
29th March 2017.
Ellen Stirling Primary School has raised the epic amount of $7979 over the past 4 years. This is
a community event that engages our staff, students and parents to raise the much needed funds
for WA children who are ill or hospitalised.
Purple Haze Day would not exist without the wonderful community spirit that ESPS has. This
fundraising event, could not possibly go ahead, with you!
Our goal is to raise the necessary funds to support this wonderful foundation, by

All students ‘Dress up’ in Purple for a gold coin donation, to be handed to their
classroom teacher. (Please Note: this is NOT a free dress day).

‘Our Block Rules’ competition (Staff & Parents are invited to supply made or baked
culinary delights for their child’s block, to be purchased at lunchtime. (The block that
raises the most money will receive a prize.)

Monster Raffle – Tickets can be purchased before and after school or at the school
reception 8 days before Purple Haze. $5 for one ticket or $20 for five tickets.

Purple Haze Stall (where you can purchase anything purple) for costumes or gifts.

Oval Games at Lunchtime for Students and Staff for a gold coin donation.

Mr B (our Physical Education
teacher) has kindly offered to
shave his beard, for the right
price!! If we can raise $300 or
over, BEFORE Purple Haze Day,
then Mr B will shave it off. All
donations will be accepted at
Reception, as from today.
The Starlight Children’s Foundation runs a metropolitan competition, which all schools that
fundraise for Starlight are automatically entered into. The School that raises the most funds
for Starlight will win a football clinic run by the Fremantle Dockers for up to 100 students! Due
to our amazing community spirit and fund raising efforts in the past, we have been fortunate to
win this for 4 consecutive years. Starlight have informed me that numerous metropolitan primary
schools are determined to knock us out of contention this year. Bring it On!!!!!!
The two below video links from You Tube give you an insight as to where our fundraising goes.

throughout the school day and parents are encouraged to come and watch their children
participate, for a gold coin donation. Prizes will be handed out for the “Best Dressed” costumes
and parents are invited to attend. All students in costumes will be invited to participate in the
parade.

Lunch
1st Lunch – Students eat in designated areas
2nd Lunch – My Block Rules (Block Co-ordinators)(Cake Stalls per Block)
2nd Lunch – Oval Games
Early Close – Left over Cake sold near library.
We will be holding 'Our Block Rules" Cake stalls at LUNCH TIME. Parents and staff are invited to “Bake or
Make” something, for our treats table or our allergies aware table, so we can sell these to raise more funds. Could
we please encourage our students to also bring pocket money, so they may partake in these culinary delights!!!!!
Friendly reminder, on our school policies on allergies, and also no items please that have fresh cream. These
delicious morsels can be delivered to the student’s classroom teachers, where class room teachers will place a
stamp on their hands. This ensures that the students that have donated cakes for their blocks cake stall, will have
priority, and will be asked to purchase from the cake stall first (so they don’t miss out).
So let’s turn our school into a Purple Haze and help raise some much needed funds for a very special cause!
For further inquiries, any suggestions or wanting to donate a prize or a donation of monetary value, please don’t
hesitate to come in to reception on ring 6296 7155.
Thanks in advance for all your support.
Sincerely
Rose Reberger
