Market St. Extended Seaford, DE 19973 Learn how to make a mini catapult at home! You will need: 10 craft sticks/popsicle sticks, four rubber bands, craft paint, a foam paintbrush, one bottle cap, a hot glue gun, “ammo” (marshmallows/pom-poms), Paint all the craft sticks; they can be the same color or different colors. Let the paint dry completely. Program Details: Frank Shade will share the history of the Sussex County phenomenon known as Punkin Chunkin. He and Jake Burton (2012 World Champion) will shoot “surprises” out of 2 smaller versions of popular-style Punkin Chunkin machines. (Hands on workshop begins at 4:00pm, Frank will speak at 4:30pm) Ideal for kids of all ages who are interested in Punkin Chunkin! Attach Two Pieces for the Base Once the paint is dry, rubber-band two sticks together at one end, then set aside Make the Cross Piece/Wing Stack the remaining eight sticks and rubber band them together at both ends. Connect Slide the stack of eight sticks in between the two sticks that you already banded together. Make an X at the Center Use the fourth rubber band to secure all of the craft sticks together. Attach “Ammo” Holder Use a hot glue gun to secure a bottle cap to the end of the catapult. This is a perfect little spot to set your marshmallow or small pom-pom.
