GRADING PROCEDURE:
To ensure the success of all students, any class work or take home assignments may be redone for a better grade.
Quizzes may also be taken again if the student’s grade is below a 70, however, the student will receive the average of
the first and second grade.
HOMEWORK: (15% of the marking period grade)
Homework is a must! Students are expected to turn in homework in class and if they miss class, they are
responsible to make up any missed work.
Homework is scored on a _+_, ____, __-__ scoring system.





+ = excellent quality
__ = acceptable quality (looking for more effort)
_-_= poor quality (needs improvement)
U = unacceptable (must be re-done to earn credit)
NC = No credit given
ASSESSMENTS: (25% of the marking period grade)


Students take all quizzes and tests home to be signed
Quizzes may be retaken after the first quiz has been signed and the student’s new grade is an average of the
retake and the original.
CLASSWORK: (25% of the marking period grade)

Work done in the classroom
PROJECTS: (25% of the marking period grade)

One major project per trimester
PARTICIPATION/PREPAREDNESS: (10% of the marking period grade)


Prepared for class (i.e. planner/agenda, homework, writing utensil, etc.)
On task behavior during class, working with group or individual as requested and participating in class.
Students work in cooperative groups and individually throughout the school year. This provides them with the
opportunity to work with many other students and grow as individuals as well.
