Little Shop of Horrors

With a score that is part rock ’n’ roll, part doo-wop and part Motown, Little Shop is the story of
the shy and love-struck florist’s assistant Seymour, who finds fame, fortune and a whole lot
more when he nurtures a strange little plant with a strong — and scary — thirst. Based on the
darkly comic Roger Corman film of the same name, Menken and Ashman created a unique
musical that swept the Off-Broadway awards when it premiered, and has continued to be a
crowd favorite ever since.
Auditions will take place Saturday, January 28th at 10am at DANCE! And All That Jazz in
Newport, OR. All auditioning should not expect to stay no later than 2pm. Feel free to bring a
snack and something to drink.
Callbacks (by invitation only) will take place Sunday, January 29th, same time and location.
Actors will be asked to read and sing from the script.

Performances run August 18 - September 3 (just in time for the Total Solar Eclipse!)
PLOT: The meek floral assistant Seymour Krelborn stumbles across a new breed of plant he
names "Audrey II" - after his coworker crush. This foul-mouthed, R&B-singing carnivore
promises unending fame and fortune to the down and out Krelborn as long as he keeps feeding
it, BLOOD. Over time, though, Seymour discovers Audrey II's out of this world origins and intent
towards global domination!

AUDREY: Poor self-worth and education, sweet and vulnerable demeanor. Female, 20-35 yrs

CRYSTAL, RONNETTE, CHIFFON: Greek Chorus-like vocalists. Young, hip, and smart. Female, 2545 yrs old, Range: Ab3 – F5
MR. MUSHNIK: Owner of a failing East Side flower shop. Profit-driven, greedy, manipulative.
Male, 45-70 yrs old, Range: G2 – F4
ORIN SCRIVELLO: Egotistical dentist with a passion for leather and sadistic tendencies. Male,
30-45 yrs old, (willing to age the right person) Range: G2 – G4
SEYMOUR KRELBORN: Insecure clerk, hero. Genuine, well-meaning, poor social skills. Male, 2540 yrs old, Range: A2 – G4
THE PLANT - AUDREY II: A conniving, street-smart plant with an appetite for human flesh. Male,
