SPX SPIRITED, TENACIOUS SPRING
HOUSE CLEANERS JOIN IN FELLOWSHIP
With very limited time to prepare, St Pius X Spring House
Cleaning was announced to the St Pius X Laity and KCC--Cleaning was set for Friday March 19th and Saturday March
20th at St Pius X CHURCH.
We cleaned each pictured colored glass (this is delicate work)
and cleaned the walls by our baptismal area. In our choir loft,
the pews and railings that extend the width of the church interior were all cleaned. We also got above the Confessional and
Cry Room Rooftop. We removed and cleaned all items that
were stored there and wiped them down. Cleaning of our Stations/Cross and Lights above is a heavy but delicate area to
work with, removing, washing, and replacing all the shields and
wiping each Station of the Cross. In the Sanctuary we did polishing of all the Koa woodwork with Milsek Oil. While wearing
masks we cleaned and wiped the Priests Sacristy, along with removing unwanted items on the shelves.
We are seeking a Vacuum with a very long handle to provide
accessibility for easier, constant cleaning.
These ACCOMPLISHMENTS covered a VAST area for TWO
DAYS--4 hours each. We all have much to be thankful for to
the AMAZING 14 Tenacious SPX Church Cleaners--who came
forth: tiny 7 year old ANA FUJIOKA, Jijie Fujioka, Adrian
DiTucci, Bernard Keane, Helen Lee, Norma Koike, Jan Burton,
Bonnie Kishii, Edna Loo, Clyde Chun, Lynne and Craig Stoll, and
Mona Teves, Mahalo Kakou!

Weekly Mass Intentions
This Weekend’s Gospel Reflections:
Luke 23:1-49
4:00 pm Joyce Nakamoto (H) - PX
5:00 pm William P. Wilson (D) - SH
On five occasions in Luke’s passion account,
Jesus is declared innocent (three times by Pilate, once by the Good Thief, once by the
centurion at the foot of the cross). Jesus died,
not because of guilt, but because if his infinitely compassionate love for us. Even in the
midst of great suffering, he extended his compassion to others (to the servant whose ear
was cut off, to the weeping women, to the
good thief). His compassion was so total that
he willingly emptied himself even to the point
of death. We entered into this holiest week
of the year, praying that our self-emptying
for the good of others could be so total! We
pray that our compassion may increase and
abound so that we have the same utter confidence in God’s presence and care as Jesus.

Jesus’ innocence conditions how he approaches other with compassion. His innocence is an invitation and challenge for us to
take up our own cross and participate in selfemptying dying—not just during this holiest of
weeks, but during every week of our lives.
