How Do We Receive Funding? This year, our cost to send our athletes to all of our Sports Tournaments is roughly 25,000 dollars. We have not yet met this goal and our athletes have to make up the difference by fundraising. With your donations we are able to send more of our great athletes to these tournaments. Special Olympics receives NO FEDERAL or STATE funding! Special Olympics is NOT part of United Way and relies ENTIRELY on local donations.
