Stormwater is water from the rain
and snow that flows across the ground
and pavement and seeps in the ground
and drains into storm sewers. Storm sewers
are the drains you see at street corners.
Stormwater “goes bad” when the following
things get mixed in with it:
Vehicles drip fluid on to the road
that rain carries into the storm
sewers.
Cleaning and lawn
chemicals are also washed
away into the ground and
Pet waste can
also get carried.
