2014 Howard Baker Memorial Scholarship recipients
Congratulations to this year’s Howard Baker Memorial Scholarship winners. Each year, NGEMC,
in partnership with TVA, awards seven high school seniors with a $1,000 scholarship. A winner
is selected from each county NGEMC serves. Students who will be high school seniors whose
households are served by NGEMC may be eligible for the 2015 Howard Baker Memorial Scholarship.

2014 Washington
Youth Tour
Eric Jackson and Eli Duncan represented
NGEMC on the 2014 Washington Youth
Tour (WYT). They joined 109 other Georgia
high school students during the June
event. WYT is a leadership trip sponsored
by Georgia’s electric membership
corporations and is designed to teach
students about U.S. history, the role of
democracy, the importance of community
and public service, and the need for civic
leadership and service. Delegates are
chosen through an application/interview
process based on their community
involvement, scholastic achievement and
leadership qualities.
