ANNAKA TRIP 2016
The Rocky Mountain International Student Program (RMISP) is organzing a trip to Japan in March,
2016. This trip is open to all students in School District No. 6 (Rocky Mountain) who will be in
Grades 8 – 12 during the 2015-16 school year. Estimated cost: $3500 (after mandatory fundraising)
Spaces on this trip are limited. An application form and letter of reference from a teacher are
required. Participation in fundraising (two or three activities/events) is also required.

PROPOSED TRIP ITINERARY (subject to change)
Saturday, March 12
Depart for Japan via Canadian Rockies International Airport in Cranbrook, BC.
Sunday, March 13
Arrive in Tokyo (+13 hour time change).
Monday, March 14
Sightseeing tour from Tokyo including Mt. Fuji, Hakone, and Lake Ashi.
Tuesday, March 15
Half-day of sightseeing in Tokyo including Akihabara and Asakusa Sensoji. Travel to Annaka.
Wednesday, March 16
Cultural experience in Annaka, Kimberley’s sister city! Homestay with a Japanese family, school visits,
sightseeing and cultural activities organized by the local board of education.
Thursday, March 17
Cultural experience in Annaka, Kimberley’s sister city! Homestay with a Japanese family, school visits,
sightseeing and cultural activities organized by the local board of education.
Friday, March 18
Travel to Kyoto by bullet train. Half-day of sightseeing including Fushimi Inari shrine.
Saturday, March 20
Full day of sightseeing in Kyoto, including Eiga Mura, Kinkakuji, and Nijo castle.
Sunday, March 21
Travel to Hiroshima by bullet train. Half-day of sightseeing including Miyajima and Itsukushima.
Monday, March 22
Half-day of sightseeing in Hiroshima including Peace Memorial Park & Museum and A-bomb dome.
Travel to Osaka by bullet train.
Tuesday, March 23
Return to Canada via Kansai International Airport in Osaka.
