GOD'S NOT DEAD
When an atheist philosophy professor (Kevin Sorbo) plans to
forego "dusty arguments" in his class, he insists the new
students declare that "God is dead.” One student refuses to
disavow his faith. Come and watch his journey and the journey
of his professor as he professes, “GOD'S NOT DEAD.” We will
be showing this movie on June 16 at 7:00PM in the
church.
Depending on time, we will try to have some
discussion afterward. Hope to see you there.
REVERSE COLLECTION
We are having our biannual reverse collection for Catholic Charities this weekend. At Mass, you will take a slip out of the collection
basket. On it will be an item that Catholic Charities gives to those in need; sometimes it is a food item, sometimes a hygiene or
household item. We encourage everyone to bring the item listed back to the gathering space next weekend, June 17-18. “Then the
king will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the
foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink.’ Then the righteous will say,
'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink?...' And the king will say to them in reply, 'Amen, I say
to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.” Matthew 25.

LECTORS NEEDED—ALL MASSES!! Due to Illness, moving
away, and other reasons, we're getting low on lectors. We're a
parish of 1400 families, and only have 32 lectors spread out
over all our Masses. Please ask the Holy Spirit to help you
discern whether He's calling you to be a lector. Sharing the
Word of God with our parish community is a beautiful thing, and
it doesn't require a big time commitment. Search your heart to
see if God is calling you. Please contact Dave Browning, 843331-3988 to schedule a training session.

IN 2020, THE DIOCESE OF CHARLESTON WILL BE
MARKING ITS 200TH ANNIVERSARY. This is an exciting time
for our Church! We have a remarkable history and a future full
of possibilities to celebrate. In preparation for the bicentennial,
Bishop Guglielmone is inviting parishioners throughout the
diocese to take a brief survey. Through it, he hopes to better
understand what is valued most regarding the ministry of the
Church, what areas are of greatest concern, and what the
hopes and expectations are of our diocesan family as we move
into the future as one, united Church.
Please take 5 minutes to complete the survey. It presents us all
with a voice and an opportunity to help shape our shared future
– a future that belongs to all of us.
The English survey link is:
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CharlestonMAP
The Spanish survey link is:
https://es.surveymonkey.com/r/EncuestaCharleston
NOTE: Printed copies of the survey are available in the
gathering space. Please fill it out and turn it in to the
church office. Thank you for taking the time to participate at
this exciting moment in our Church history. May the Lord
continue to bless our parish and the Diocese of Charleston.
