A Report of Expert Talk on “Plagiarism: Detection, Issues and Challenges”
We are glad to inform you that M.C.A Department had organized the Expert Talk on “Plagiarism: Detection, Issues and
Challenges” as a part of Research Oriented Drive. The main goal of this talk is to bring awareness of Plagiarism among
faculties and research scholars.

Prof. Gayatri Kapadia welcomed Dr. Gaurang Rami Sir and facilitated with flowers. Dr. Gaurang Rami initiated the talk by
showing his gratitude towards Dr. S. V. Patel Sir and Prof. Gayatri Kapadia, Head – MCA Department for inviting him for
this Expert Talk.
Dr. Gaurang Rami discussed various aspects of Plagiarism, different causes for research papers’ rejection by reputed
journals and also presented process of Publishing Research Paper in National and International Journal, very effectively
with Flow Chart.
Dr. Gaurang Rami shared his views and experience of using various websites and software packages available for
efficient Plagiarism Check and also explained different parameters and/or measures like Gunning Fog Index, Flesch
Reading Ease and Self Plagiarism (also called Recycling Fraud) which give detailed clarity for taking precautions against
Plagiarism.
Dr. Gaurang Rami enlisted a few paid and open source software for Plagiarism checks by showing online (live)
demonstration and also drew attention to the website www.urkund.com, the use of which is initiated by UGC
(University Grant Commission) and MHRD (Ministry of Human Resource Development) in India through IFLIBNET.
The Expert Talk by Dr. Gaurang Rami was effective to fulfill the need of Plagiarism Detection by overcoming methods for
cross citations against existing verbatim. The talk concluded with a brief outline on effective writing and technical skills
for research papers.
Prof. Sapana Desai presented a vote of thanks and gave concise highlights from the talk.
