INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS WARNING Nylon netting will tear, fray, or break from normal use or abuse. Before each time it is used, check entire net for holes worn in net or any signs of wear or abuse. Repair these worn areas immediately before using. Call JUGS toll free at 800-547-6843 for assistance and repair materials. Do not allow anyone to stand any closer than six (6) feet from the outside edge of the net. Allow only one batter and one machine operator (or pitcher) in the net at one time. Operator (or pitcher) must use a protective screen and wear a batting helmet for safety. ATTENTION! DO NOT secure the bottom of your net to the ground in any manner. This will significantly decrease the useful life of your net and voids the warranty. Your JUGS Net must be installed to JUGS specifications as described in the installation instructions. Failing to do so voids the warranty. Any knots with trailing ends that may be present in our batting cage net are a result of a new spool of twine being loaded, tied and knotted to the spool of twine already in the net loom. This occurs in the manufacturing of all knotted nylon and in no way diminishes the integrity of your net. It is suggested to place your eye bolts as close as possible to the CEILING. Then adjust the lengths of your vertical cables to allow the net to hang with 1' to 1/2' of netting on the gym floor. Check contents to make sure you have all needed parts: (6) eye bolts, (3) 100' cable lengths, (30) 30' cable lengths, (35) metal snap rings, (6) turnbuckles, (6) steel pulleys, (66) cable clamps, and (35) plastic snap hooks. 1. Attach the eye bolts to your gym walls. Arrange these eye bolts at each end of your gym, in the following manner. 4. Attach the vertical cables this way: Important: Attach the vertical cable lengths to metal snap rings before snapping onto horizontal cables at CEILING. 8. To store your net, simply slide it along the cables to side wall. END WALL SIDE WALL SIDE WALL SNAP RING VERTICAL CABLE CABLE CLAMP Your vertical cables should look like this at the top end. 5. Repeat step 4 at the opposite end of the vertical cable using 30 plastic snap hooks, making sure that you allow for the slope of the net (middle of the net higher than sides) and allowing for 11/2' to rest on gym floor. 2. This should be done every 7' (for 70' cage). HOW TO ATTACH YOUR CABLES TO THE EYE BOLTS 1. Cut the cable to the appropriate length. 2. Slide two eye pulleys onto each of the three cables. 3. Run one end of your cable through the turnbuckle and secure using cable clamp. Tape end of cable to prevent fraying. 4. Hook turnbuckle on to eye bolt extending from the wall or frame section. 5. Repeat steps 2 and 3 at opposite end. 6. Tighten the turnbuckles at each end of the cable to provide tension to hold up the net. “BATTER’S VIEW” OF CAGE GYM FLOOR 12' 10 /2' 1 101/2' SIDE WALL Your vertical cables will need to extend to these lengths above your gym floor. Note: You should provide for extra cable length when setting up initially. You can always cut off excess cable if not needed. Note: The “slope” of the net is important. The center of the net, for its entire length, is 12' high. The sides of the net are only 101/2' high, leaving 18" of net on your gym floor to keep batted balls inside the enclosed area. HOW TO ATTACH YOUR NETTING TO THE CABLES GYM FLOOR 12' 101/2' 3. Attach the horizontal cables this way: You must slide the six eye pulleys onto the horizontal cables before attaching your horizontal cables to the turnbuckles. OVERHEAD VIEW GYM FLOOR 7. SIDE VIEW OF NET IN PLACE 1. The cables should be placed and tightened to your frame sections or walls. 2. Stretch out your net on the ground underneath the cables. 3. Starting at one end, while on a ladder or platform, have your partner hand up to you the end of the net. 4. Attach the rope border, on top of the net, to the vertical cables by opening the snap hooks and putting the rope inside. Repeat this every 7' having your partner continue to “feed” you the net until one side is completed. 5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 for the middle and opposite side cable. Note: You should have to go up and down the ladder only three times, once for each of the cables.
