\Vhereas:
The Student Government of the University of North Florida was established to
represent student concerns in all University wide matters; and

Whereas:
The Student Senate is the legislative body of the University of North Florida's
Student Government given the responsibility of carrying out such legislative acts that
are necessary and proper for the Student Body of the University of North Florida;
and;

Whereas:
Legislation dealing with necessary and proper statutory revisions shall be considered
by Student Senate; and

Whereas:
The Student Government Statutes are in need of revision. These measures are aimed
at addressing the impracticable limitations imposed on Senate committee
membership. Moreover, through these changes the Senate President will have more
flexibility in ensuring equal representation among committees.

Furthermore: The following revisions arc being proposed to the Student Government Statutes;

A. Tire Senate President shall make all reasonable efforts to insure that there are
an equal number of senators on. each committee.

B. There must be a 1ninimurn of three (3) Senators on each committee including
a chair for that committee to hear business.

C. In the event that a committee cannot establish quorum all business for that
committee shall be f01warded to senate unless prohibited by another statute.

A. All records emaaal'ing from Senate and Committee meetings of the previous
three (3) years shall be made available online. Records shall consist of, but
not limited to, voting records, attendance records, and bills. The Constitution

and Statutes Chair must, upon passage of a bill revising statute, submit an
updated version of statute to the Senate President. The records must be
turned into the Webmaster within 11 business days from the Senate
President.

810.2 The B&A Committee shall eoosist of up to twelve Seaators, iaeluding the
~ Non-voting ex-officio members shall include the chairs of the
standing Senate Committees, the Senate President, the SG Advisor, the SG
Director of Operations, the SG Assistant Director, SG Treasurer, SG
Business Manager, and SG Accountants.
TITLE XII: THE STUDENT ADVOCACY COMMITTEE STATUTES
Chapter 1200: Student Advocacy Committee
1200.2 The Student Advoeaey Cemmittee shaH he eomposed of minimum· of four
('I) Senators inelading the Chair and three (3) Seaators. All voting members
of the committee will be elected or appointed senators including the Vice
Chair. Non-voting Ex-Officio members shall include Constitutions and
Statutes Chair, Budget and Allocations Chair, Elections and Appointments
Chair, University Affairs Chair, Senate President, Senate Pro-Tempore,
Student Advocate and Student Government Advisor.

Let it he enacted, by the University of North Florida Student Govemment that the
proposed revisions to the SG Statutes be made effective immediately.
